PDCC is not irrelevant. Dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

And Alcantara is durable if you take care of it. They don’t swathe Lambos in it for nothing. Or GT3s.

Alcantara is a great fabric. Don't compare fabrics to leather, it doesn't make sense. Alcantara has one of the highest abrasion counts for fabrics. It's also very easy maintenance and 'anything' will come out of it with a damp microfiber cloth. I've had a couch with Alcantara for 13 years and it is still looking great. Having said that, I wouldn't get any fabric on the steering wheel or shifter. Those get used way too much and will show wear/tear a lot faster. I would get it in a heartbeat for seating surfaces, etc. Especially since it seems to bounce back unlike leather.

Edit after watching it - I’d have to agree with a previous poster. There are a ton of odd mistakes in it. He talks about them bringing out the glass roof later whilst hovering over the glass roof, and then hovers over the steel sunroof. Etc. Maybe he hadn’t had his coffee.

Funny that he says lava orange is a nice color but miami has been problematic for Porsche and so will probably be discontinued soon. Miami blue (which is basically a slightly aqua version of the common PTS choice of Mexico blue) has received nowhere near the negative comments that lava orange has. Also funny that he thought lizard would be reserved for the 991.2 GT3 RS. Ummm... you mean like you thought lava orange would be reserved for the 991.1 3RS? How quickly he forgets!

He made quite a name for himself in Porsche circles a few years ago when his 991.1 turned out to be a Lemon. He started putting out a lot of youtube videos about it as well as his interactions with PCNA to resolve the issue. He gained 100ks of followers and Porsche had to put an end to it so they bought his car from him. He continued doing videos on other stuff including Porsches. I think he is down to only 140k followers now though.

I agree. It doesn't take very long to destroy alcantara covered surfaces that see a lot of contact. Shifters and steering wheels. I hate it. It feels terrible.

Nothing like real cow hide in a Porsche.

I had Alcantara steering wheel and shifter as well as seats in my GTS that after 3 years still looked brand new.

I have he GTS package with Alcantara in my GTS (leather wheel and shifter though),......seats still look new after 3 plus years and I love the stuff when used tastefully.

A lot has to do with how you take care of it and use it. People that get into the seats like a buffalo on steroids will wear out anything in 2 years,...leather or alcantara. People that enter and
exit the interior "gracefully" with respect for any material....and it will look new after years of use. It's amazing to compare older Porsches right next to each other,....you can always tell the
ones with careful owners, and ones without.
