Nah, this poll simply demonstrates that people vote for the car they have as no one could seriously otherwise declare the 996 beautiful. . . and I had 4 996s back in the day. The 964, not the 965, is a bit of an ugly duckling as well, although I hot rodded a couple that looked great. That car needed a tail and wide body to look look good.

More months/years have to pass for 992 winner... Some years ago 997 should be the best, because a lot of voting people had 997, now this is for 991... After this will be for 992

a true mistery for snobbery thinking we can't have a brain to detect the ugliness...

wrong analysis
voters can choose multiple 911s not only the ones they own/owned
do you want to say all the 993 voters own one? What about 996 voters?? Haven t they sold more 996 than 993? Wait i ve got yoyr thinking, this poll must be a 993 owners cospiracy vs the 992!!
you are 1 vs 300 voters
that means only one sure thing:
Porsche enthusiasts do not like the 992
Period

From the tone of the rest of the 992 board, I'd venture to guess that most of the 991 numbers in this poll are made up by 991 owners, whereas everything else is probably more evenly split by owners/admirers. Sort of makes sense we'd see more 991 owners here since it has higher production numbers than previous models.
In other words, it doesn't seem likely that a bunch of 993 owners are voting the 991 as the best, and across Rennlist, the only people I usually hear saying the 991 is their favorite are 991 owners.

why the 993 have gotten
more votes than the 992
more than the 996 or the 964 or the early 911s ??
There s no need to overthink, it s very simple
people prefer the 993 design over the others above

Of course.....newer is better in the world of Porsche. Better ride, better technology, better PDK, better steering, better RWS, better handling, more power.....you get the idea! Hell yes it’s better.....don’t even need to see it to know that!

Right now the poll is turning out exactly how I would rank order them. 991, 993, 997...

Fwiw, I'm on my second 991 and have a tough time choosing between the modern generations for "best," partly as there are models in each that look good and bad to me. Some "recent" high points for me include 964 RS/RS 3.8, 993 C2 (if lowered)/RS/4S, 997.1 GT3, and 991.2 Carrera/S/4/4S (I prefer this front end to other 991 variations). I'd have to choose carefully between those four, and weigh out the 996 C4S in there as well, but I think the 964/993/997 come out ahead of the 991 for me. Then again, there are "nits" to pick with each.
But kudos to the OP, as the 901/911 and impact-bumper 911s are separate. And I think the original is unmatched in terms of not having a bad angle. About the only nit I can pick is the vent window chrome on the SWB cars, which remain the prettiest of all 911s to these eyes. 73 RS/RSR also very hard to pick on…but then so is the IROC, 930, and the right 3.2.
See? Not easy. As for the 992? Too early. We've been able to live with and around all the rest…

Someone at PAG tried multiple times to fly away from the originall 911 to a more "teutonic" 964/996/992, indeed is not the same person...
is not true all 911s designs are at the end the same,
in 911s design language there's nothing different than an early 911 and the mutants 964/996/992
worth to say i am not saying the 992 looks like a 996 but instead both belong to temptatives to escape the original 911 footprint
i can understand the designers at PAG tried to get the 992 exteriour ispiration from the 930 but rather they slided towards the 964 (see the red 992 above)
their mutant ispiration the 930/964 mixed with the 991 that belongs to the different and pure 911(yes even with rear bar light..., see yellow 991.2) and you get such a un-cohesive 992

^ That's what I am talking about, right there. Thanks for posting. Door vent window trim aside, a effectively perfect shape. No bad angles. At least not that I have found so car. Looks good on skinny wheels, or stuffed full of Fuchs. Just enough tension and curve. Plainly fabulous. As much as I like some 911s, I am not sure any beat the SWB for me.
I liked the way my 911 SC looked, but not as much as these. Ditto for the 991s. Great cars and more usable to be sure, but…
