Configurator Discussion and Fun
Interesting points. Heated seats are now standard it seems. Leather keys are available (like panny). Paldao wood trim, but no wood wheel? GT sport steering wheel seems to just have thicker grips, not a change in diameter.
I almost want one just to get green on green club leather.
Not clear if alcantara headliner matches interior color or is black.

Former Vendor
Here was a "Brumos Racing" inspired spec I did this morning on the configurator, with some vinyl rendered in after the fact!
Carrara White Metallic with Guards Red and Mexico Blue Turbo S style stripes adapted for the bonnet crease width of the 992. Satin Aurum wheels with black PCCB calipers, and the Graphite Blue / Crayon interior option with Guards Red seat belts, and some CF/Alcantara goodies.

It's on the US configurator now. Some notes that stuck out to me.
Seat heating is standard.
PPF is now a factory option.
Rev matching appears to be non selectable like 991. Too bad. Missed opportunity.
PCCBs are an option again but this time you can paint then black from the factory.
Lane Keeping is now available.

Few months out. Confirmed available.
What I can’t tell from the pictures is what the stock dash/console/door trim looks like. Unfortunately, upgrading to leather or wood or painted seems to include a bright chrome strip like the panamera.

Had to jump out and take a quick look....
At least the interior colors have been expanded a bit,....good thing, along with some stitching options.
The interior painted pieces and carbon fiber bits don't have near the effect they have as on the 991, the CF stuff almost looks like stickers and are just partial pieces now,....still the same price.
The CF door threshold is laughable with all the fonts.
Oh yeah, configure the Burmester Sound system (one of my faves),.....you get a nice bright silver speaker grill on the front door,.....aka K-Mart speaker.....seriously Porsche, really??

Love the new green color. What is Club leather? Like natural leather?
I saw alcantara headliner is now an option...for 1300! used to be standard... what is the standard now, cloth?
Love that you can paint the calipers black now, gives it a discreet look.

When you compare the 992 carrera 4S to the 991 carrera 4S, the 992 looks lower and sleaker, the specs show them as almost identical, but you can definitely see that the rear axel looks more beneath the C pillar and that the hood looks lower and sleeker.

Worked with 4 way plus. Could be a glitch. The configurator always has issues (I know Porsche reads about them on RL and then fixes them or the timing of patches is eerie).
i think a lot of the added leather will be added later to the option list. However, given the delays at Porsche exclusive custom tailoring, maybe they are cutting back on those options.
Oh, and both paint in custom color ($11k) and true paint to sample ($22k) are on the configurator.

10 to 15K for option
I dont know about you guys but $10 to 15K is my max for options.
anymore would be a waste. Originally i didnt even want sports chrono but ended up checking sports package
the quad tailpipe looks so outdated not to mention environmentally uncool with all the Tesla flying around.
and yes shaver ****. i just want the boring shifter from panamera. too much to ask?
lastly, it's atrocious Volcano grey kept getting omitted when they have ridiculous yellow and 2 shades of green that no one will order.

And I CAN’T BELIEVE alcantara headliner is now an option on a 911! What kind of cost cutting BS?
Good comparison, and the 992 does have a visual effect of being slightly sleeker via stretching out the front overhang, very slightly tidying up the rear profile, going wider on the tracks, and making the greenhouse slightly shallower. Optical illusions that make a car that's actually very slightly taller, appear lower. However, those pictures aren't a truly accurate comparison as the 991 is clearly taken from a slightly higher vantage, while the 992 is taken from a lower vantage. That in itself gives the 992 an extra illusion of being lower and sleeker.

991.1 and 992.1
Overhead comparison.... note the 991.1 reveal was a narrow body and as we all know now the 992 gen is all wide body chassis.
