I don't think that's right...from the reveal, the wheelbase is the same. The front track is wider but that's it. The wide body width in back is same as previous GTS.

This is one big 'ol tweak:
PASM tweak
Rear end tweak
Fuel injection tweak
Front and rear bumper tweak
Interior and seats tweak
NUBBIN tweak

It's one big 'ol TWEAK - but that will help in the quality department.

(and yeah, that particular view of the rear brake light is hideous. Who thought that was a good idea?)
I agree the rear brake light is hideous. Porsche is trying to stay in theme with the new Cayenne and Panamera. This all strart with the 911 C4S. Horrible look almost as bad and the 996 headlights. lol

You basically have to jump straight to the expensive LWB seats for adequate hard driving driver support.
Please let us know if those seats are any different than the current 991 seat. I don't see a difference, especially the back seats.

no interest to head to the 992 turbo s cab whenever they do it vs my 991.2 UNLESS they do a turbo S targa...then I'd be kinda f'd.

Ok - so i went and looked at the 992 in more detail. I will go to LA car show and see it in person. But on paper - i dont love the back end very much. Front end looks very similar to the 991.2. Side profile is almost the same and is fine. I dont love the interior dash etc.

i assume the big Turbo will be up at least $8K as thats what the 992 standard is.

Also given the chassis is the same - not a huge step up vs a 997 to 991 move.

So if i had a 991.2 - no way would i pay to move unless i had unlimited funds and the car surprised me in person. I slightly prefer the 991.2 to the 991.1 - even though i have a .1.

If i had a 991.1 (I do), i will keep it and modify it. Going down that path with Sam . No crazy desire to get a 992

New buyer with lots of funds and have to spec brand new and maybe do ED - 992.

New smart buyer - 991.2 gently used to get a great deal.

That transformer rear spoiler looks terrible. I think the value of my 991 just skyrocketed.

I saw it yesterday at the LA show. It truly looks like a heavy facelifted 991 in person. All the black plastic on the outside makes it look cheap, interior does look pretty bad starting with the *** and the cupholder. You would think after the interior fiasco with the 996 they would have learned their lesson but apparently not. Hopefully they will massage it as time goes on, but in its current form I am not buying one anytime soon.

Actually the gearshift, with its small cross-hatched knurled **** to shift from R-N-D looks very similar to the 918 Spyder
and not unlike the better looking design in my AMG E63S. I agree, it ain't pretty.

911 needs a total revamp if you want to ask me. Frankly, I never liked any 911 until 991.2

All the previous generations prior 991.2 are unappealing in my eyes.

I actually dont know why ppl pay 6 figure for such small and unattractive car.

I also dont get why they bother to make back seats. It's obviously no adults can sit in those backseats.

You may call it tradition. I think it's plain dumb.

Make backseats that are actually useful and move the engine further to the middle. It will handle far better.

While you are at it, make hybrid available in 2 years and complete electric in 4 years.

You cannot fight physics and reality. Age of ICE cars is over.

People pay $100,000+ for these cars because they like a car that drives amazingly well. And any modern 911 does that better than almost any other car.

Back seats are perfect for my 11 and 9-year-olds. Without the small back seats, I'd never have been able to drive the car.

The only way to make the rear seats more useful is to move the engine further back or the cabin further forward. Moving the engine forward as you suggested would only make rear seat space worse.
