Is Porsche becoming accurate with their 0-60 numbers now?
I just read in Jalopnik that the 992 C4S is much, much faster than the 991.2 C4S; 3.2 sec 0-60 (which is only slightly faster than the real-world C4S number for the 991.2). 0-60 in 3.2 sounds about right for an engine making 20 more hp and a slightly quicker, updated transmission. It has always annoyed me when they say a car is 0-60 in 4.4 and everyone is doing 3.8 at the dragstrip.
Either that, or they are still sandbagging the car and we are looking at 0-60 in 2.7!

Actually curious about this as well. According to the official numbers the C4S should be much faster from 0-60 than a 991.2 GT4S. I guess they aren't posting the good old conservative numbers, but who knows.

992 has the slight HP advantage and 8 speed,....although the last two gears are similar to the 7th gear in the 991 so that may not make that much difference.
The 992 packed on significant more weight though.
I would suspect the 992 is a 10th or two quicker as it has always been with newer Porsche models,....but nothing substantial for sure. If they could find a way to put it on a diet,...all the better.

One of the mags published 3.1 sec 0-60 test time for a stock 991.2 GTS.

It depends whether they include the 1ft rollout. Magazines do (so its faster). Manufacturers usually dont. In my manual T and Macan turbo, the actual 0-60 were basically what porsche said.

The 992 S models should run just like the 991.2 GTS models. Basically same hp and torque. Same redline too. Gotta be right in that 3.1-3.2 sec time for 0-60.
Which then makes me wonder about the 992 GTS and when that appears. Gotta figure 475 hp for that and I have no idea how they will extract it...OH WAIT...larger turbos.

Apples to Apples - Porsche's own numbers show 991.2 C2S at 4.1s and 991 C2S at 3.5s. New 992 seems to have the advantage. Will be interesting to see comparable trap speed in the 1/4 mile since trap speed is a much better indicator of overall acceleration.
