Two center pipes look great. Four wide pipes look great. Two pipes spaced like a VW Beetle or Audi TT do not look good.

Must have been one of the GTD cars I saw, but one of them had bodywork/stickers that copied the 992 front and rear ends.

and one of the reasons it looked awesome is it runs on 18" rims, not the grotesque ridiculous grave digger monster jam 21" of the 992.

I love everything in that car. I had the chance to be very close to one in last year’s official livery and it’s every bit as impressive simply standing there as it is in action on the race track. Simply gorgeous; one of the most beautiful cars ever built.

If the 992 manual will get a 7MT from 991, will the manual 992 keep the same weight as 991.2?

Since majority of weight gain in the 992 are from the new 8 speed PDK, using the 991's gearbox should erase most of weight gain in 992 no?

Like F1, the tires are an integral part of the suspension. Formula E rides on bigger wheels. 21" are optional on 992 I believe.

I have to admit that Carlos Lago does his best possible review this car - lol he Does make fun of the Beard Trimmer and indirectly states this model is way expensive than the previous generation. He probably has to write a positive review but makes fun of things.

The drive is probably good in the 992 but I just don't seem to care anymore, I want something ascetically pleasing as well. Looks like there are tons of 991.2 and 991.1 to have and have add more to my garage. The nubbin just throws me off, along with the extra piano black empty useless thing added to 911 (besides wifey hates the nubbin). I am sure they didn't add some useless parts like the piano black thingey, we probably could have some weight savings lol. Spend more for a heavy car....sigh!!!! I guess the car reflects the general population, people are getting fatter, and cars get fatter. The electric door handles are just plain dumb - 100% overengineered crap, add one more thing to worry about it - I am concerned on how they open during an emergency.

Can't wait to go to dealer when it is out in my area, I am just going to make fun of things in front of them.

Just hoping Turbo model has a the PDK shifter (I can bet the answer will be no) and no messed up red band aid grille light (as they have intake vents on that area)...time will tell.

How could you not care if the drive is good? This is supposed to be a brand of driver's cars, not just shiny badges. My biggest concern leading up to release was the driving quality; would it remain fun and connected, or go the way of BMW and wallow in boredom. That was my biggest concern.

Once the 992 gets a proper, non obese transmission, I hope we'll see it come alive. Porsche has iterated the EPS and 7MT since the 991, and the turbo motors since the 991.2, so we should expect improvements in shifting, steering, and and sound. I can forgive a dumb brake light and a weird spoiler if the driving is good enough. We did exactly that for the duckbilled G body, why not the 992.

Really though, I just hope the 911 doesn't follow the 3 series, the subject of my childhood fandom, to a luxury car doom.

Read about the new 3....its the benchmark again. Everyone that has tested the 992 says its better than the 991.

^ To my understanding, it isn't as simple as that, as the added weight/size of the 8spd PDK with another mainshaft and a void for hybrid drive meant a bigger void in the chassis, more strength, etc. It's a good bet the manual car will have the same unibody.

Will be interesting to see what the actual weight savings are with the 7MT...if I had to take a stab, I'd guess we might see it save 70-85 pounds.

Optional on the base, stock on the S and higher variations. Maybe by the time the 992.2 comes along they'll have 22" stock and optional 23", and people will love them!
