It looks like a new "feature" is if the car doesn't feel you're in a place appropriate to go fast... it decides how fast to go for you.

What has happened to the UK?
Used to be great, now a bunch of whiny envious little socialist turds.

For many years the USA has driven design for the rest of the world. China is becoming rich very fast and is closing the gap on consumption. Additionally, they have a tariff system that basically says your product is going to be so expensive that very few people will buy it unless you adhere to our standards. Nothin new here. This mandate brought us the 3.0tt in the 991.2!

Think about getting into your 911 only to find out it won't rev past 3K RPM because your government deems you need more "social points."

That's some scary sh*t!! Possible here in the USA too, don't think it can't.

You may want to consider a 991.1 instead. DI turbo engines have a significant amount of increased complication that will surely reduce longevity and increase running costs down the road.

If you're going used, may as well hunt for a 9A1 equipped 997.2. That way you get the last N/A motor generation, with the last hydraulic steering, and a six speed instead of the awkward 7Mt.

I agree but I took that 997.2 search to the end of the earth before giving up and buying my 991.1. While the 991.1 has plenty of over complicated tech that can and will go wrong, at least having the feel and sound of that glorious NA engine along with the comfort of knowing it's far less complex than the turbo engine is enough for me.

That is definitely the way to do it and if it wasn't for the over-complicated rear wheel steering system it would be the absolute perfect combination of enjoy-ability and longevity.

I just wish that Porsche would carry the concept of the T to its completion, and give us a stripped, light, N/A 911.
3.0 L block, cams and springs from the outgoing 3.4, powder metal pistons. It would be simple.
