It is absolutely horrid but you can't be too surprised. The "dumbing" down of this control **** just goes hand in hand with the "dumbing" down of the entire car.

Yes, totally. The 992.2 steering wheel will have a decal on it that says "THIS IS FOR MAKING THE CAR GO LEFT OR RIGHT"

Well....here is the dude who designed the interior - 100% uninspired by the video and sad the direction the company has taken. Too much digital doesn't age well at all....and the puny a#$ shaver gear selector. Copied buttons straight from Mustang

This just screams 1990’s Buick to me.

Yeah, Bash Hat, I agree -- the dash has a 1990s "plank" look to it. My initial thought when I first saw the 992 dashboard was at least Porsche didn't succumb to the current industry trend of simply sticking the infotainment screen on a tablet atop the dash. How that became acceptable, I have no idea. That always looks just hideous. But, in the case of the 992, the resulting "flat panel" dash right of the screen is decidedly unattractive. It appears as if the designer just ran out of ideas. But, for me, the capper is the design of the console. Here again, to my eyes, it looks crude and slab-sided with some 1980's chrome stripes thrown in.

I keep coming back to the thought that there's no one thing, one aspect of this interior design that is off-putting. In combination, however, I keep thinking these key features of the design are things that you might shrug off in a Chevrolet SUV, but this car is supposed to be a pinnacle of design and sophistication. If you choose to own or lease one, you're going to be spending hours in it. Done right, the interior of the car would be both comfortable and welcoming -- a place you really want to seek out, surrounded in luxury and comfort. Certainly that's what you're paying thousands upon thousands for. If, as here however, the interior comes across as cold and agricultural -- i.e., akin to what you'd expect to see in a John Deere combine -- why would you choose to own (or rent) it? I'm left wondering if this is the result of a committee design -- "Hey, we forgot this!" -- or a consequence one guy's ultimate lack of judgment or experience in approving the result.

the loss of the five round analog gauges is highly off-putting in its own right, in my view.

My God! I just don't know what to say. That is awful. Past 911s were so unique. This thing is "just a car".

Yawn, I'm really tired of this half baked design being rammed down our throats with this marketing strategy. I'm also exhausted by their relentless efforts to convince us of some sort of parallel to the early 911 interiors.

IF they truly wanted to make a modern version of an early 911 interior then they failed miserably in my opinion.

Taking "inspiration" across different 911 generations and the other current Porsche model line (Panny/Cayenne), creates a non cohesive mess.

This statement is the best summation of the 992. Says it all without any details, but explains them.
