Hate the 992??! OFFICIAL VENTING THREAD # Ultimate bashing allowed. Step in the ring.

That's quite a presumption considering myself and many other 991 owners would order a 992 tomorrow if Porsche actually built the car we wanted.

Haha...all the 991 owners coming out claiming they got the last of the "lightweight" Porsches. ROFLMAO
Btw, sales figures will most likely be determined by the strength of the economy and capital markets.
Lot of people around here are really insecure with their purchases. Looking for affirmation... No wonder Porsche owners are the butt of so many jokes..

Exactly. More likely the opposite, i.e., he's going to buy one and deep down he knows it's a hot mess. But the way he says it makes me think somebody took his binky away.

No holds barred? GREAT! I’ll go after the morons that think there is something wrong with the 992. You dimwits are either in need of new eyes, new brains, or are just plain OOOOOOLD!!! This is one of the best looking 911s EVER. Finally, they’ve gotten rid of those ugly intersecting disks and went back to a horizontal layout. No hideous lights like a 996. No absurd rear engine vent fins like on the 991.1. An amazing updated interior using both high tec and tactile, touchable switches. Faster. More HP. Better handling. Better MPG. Finally, a PDK NOT TRYING TO LOOK LIKE A ***** OR A STICK SHIFT. Use the paddles like Webber and the F1 big boys you old ladies.
If you want lots of electronics in the cockpit then go look at Audis or AMG...

Like the 991.2, the 992 design has little to do with making a great sports car, let alone a 911.... The 991.2 engine was all about legislation and catering to China. Porsche openly stated that the 922 design was all about catering to China. Not performance, not engineering, not experience, not making a better sports car. Porsche openly stated moving more towards a large GT segment for China.

Plenty of other options out there on the car market as Porsche is no longer as special as it used to be...because it’s now going mass market luxury, instead of unique drivers experience.

agree with this. Also why I’m done purchasing Porsches for this entire 992 generation.

The good news is that even though the 718 is nowhere near the all rounder, it is still a fantastic sports car.

The 718 is indeed a fantastic sports car when compared to it's rivals. When compared to previous 6 cyl variants is where it falls short.
With that said, the 718 GT4 is going to be "the one" for those of us lucky enough to have a deposit locked in. Now all we can do is hope that Porsche doesn't disappoint as there has been enough of that already lately.

I rarely venture out into the water cooled forums but heard rumors of this thread in the 911 forum so had to check it out. Hilarious. Now back into the garage to work on my POS '72.

Feel free to come drop by again any time and remind us what driving a 911 is like when we are all driving our nubbinelfers

I'd be driving an air cooled if I had the money and time for the upkeep. As well as the patience and calmness for major surprises.

Don't know if it will be the one (I wasn't blown away with my first-generation GT4) but one thing is for sure, they'll make plenty of them and you don't need to have an early deposit in. The days of limiting the GT# cars are gone. They made more than enough GT4s, 991.1 GT3s, 991.2 GT3s, and we're even seeing plenty of RSs now. Not saying you shouldn't feel lucky to own one as I'm sure it will be a very nice car. But it won't be a unicorn chase by any stretch.
