Whats the view on if it will be released near to the base & S? Its not strictly speaking a "special" model. Im trying to decide if I should pick up a car now or wait for the 992.
I guess all the 992s will be wide-bodies, which I would assume would include the Carrera T.
So, I think the first generation narrow-body Carrera T will be quite collectable and probably hold its value better than most of its siblings.
Thoughts?
I think you are spot on Haliax. “More analog” and “smaller/narrower” when compared to the new 992 IF they make a T. But by the way it drives, the way it feels, I think it will be a sought after 911 in the future. If not, I’ll buy another one for “cheap” then because I enjoy the hell out of it!

any updates/news on a possible 992 T - beyond the original article posted ^
IMHO, the "T" was an end-of-cycle car; one made up of parts sitting around (figurative speaking) that someone decided could be put together to move a few more non-S Carreras. The likelihood of seeing one in 2020 is (again, IMHO) remote. Put another way, Porsche probably lost more in shipping than they sold. Let's talk again in 2024.

agree that if they do roll out another carrera T - probably not till end of the 992 cycle. although the 997.2 GTS was also an end of run limited “parts bin” special - they went on to make the GTS part of every model and now the 997 GTS is a special car (in a manual) you can barely find 3 of these for sale in the US (with low miles) and they command a premium.
time will tell if the 991.2 T follows the 997 gts trend.
im betting NO on 992 T. It will be reserved for the 718 T only - but I could be wrong
Blume has said Porsche is adding a new 'lifestyle' third pillar to the 911 range. The two pillars are the GT cars and then the standard Carrera and Turbo lines.
Personally, I'd expect to see a Carrera T sooner rather than later. If the '718 6' thing is real, I'd also expect to see a non-GT 992 with a naturally aspirated six. All of which will be 'lifestyle' models. If they do indeed do a nasp non-GT 992, then it might make sense to make that the 'T'.
