I'm shopping 991.2 C2S right now. I would seriously consider waiting for the 992 if....it came standard with many of the options I'm currently paying to get. The overall cost was not significantly more, including all the options I want. They keep Agate Grey as an option or bring back Graphite Blue!

I would need to actually see photos or better yet, an actual car. I doubt I can see a car till 2-2019 & by then could no longer order a 991.2. I'm not even sure I will be able to order a 991.2, once the 992 is revealed this fall. The configurator will probably change to 992 same time.

So, I'll probably order a 991.2 & maybe regret it, spring 2019 when I see the 992s & especially when I see the options & cost on the configurator.
Especially, if some of the pricy performance options I paid for, are now standard, such as R.A.S.

If you decide you don't like the 992, there will be more slightly-used, pristine and certified, 991.2 cars on the lot when the 992s arrive.

I have no regrets about buying a virtually flawless GT3 used with 5,500 miles on the clock and a extended warranty at a $30K discount.

Manual hybrid 992 gts or gt3. Extreme throttle response torque sitting on your face right now at 1k rpm manual.

It makes financial sense to never buy a new car, due to the deprecation, especially the 1st year or 2. It also makes no financial sense to buy a Porsche!

I'm buying a new car & there is virtually 0 chance I will find a new lot car that has my color & option choices.

But for most people, your suggestion is a good one!

I don't see anything compelling that is going to knock me off of my 991.2 TTS, especially with all of the expensive upgrades I have already done to it. I will be looking at a 992.2, perhaps. There is nothing else that really knocks me over, like the changes from the 997 to the 991 included.

Caveat: Honestly, I have been getting shaky and weak kneed just looking at that bigger drink holder on the 992 prototypes. I've recently upgraded my Mercedes because the old had low-res backup camera and the new model upgraded to hi-res, so I may lose my mind one day and jump in sooner. Or, I get passed by a 992 TTS on track, which I doubt for a while until tuners get up to speed. Logic seems to go out the door when cars get emotional with me.

Every Porsche principal who has discussed electric hybrid power has said it will never be offered with a Manual gearbox. Not saying it's impossible, but seems very unlikely.

Once the Targa appears in that new blue color, we'll trade in my wife's 997.2 C4S for one.
