Could the 992 have exhaust notes like the Panamera Turbo?
Wow,
Just saw this video at Jalopnik, https://jalopnik.com/the-2019-porsch...-cu-1825396069
I am wondering will the 992 (almost all trims as they are all turbos) create wonderful exhaust notes like the Panamera Turbo does. It is great sound with Turbo Engines.
Super excited about the 992 PSE options. I want to see the 992 Turbo S produce a different exhaust note.

Ok....I really like that sound. Thanks for posting.
I am certain that Porsche is going to modify the exhaust note on the 992. Recall that the PSE on the 991.2 was the last major R&D effort to be completed. It was delayed because they couldn't get it right. Still didn't (and I am a 991.2 owner) The exhaust note (while not bad), is the major criticism for the 991.2. It is going to change for sure.
I love how a Maserati sounds and they have turbo engines. It can be done. I expect the 992 will be awesome in every respect.

A 90-degee V8 with a lot of exhaust length to play with versus a flat-6 with barely enough exhaust length to meet regs (cats, mufflers.)
A dog will never sound like a cat. Different animals entirely.
There is no way a flat-6 will ever, ever sound like a 90-degree V8.
EDIT: it is not just N.A. vs. Turbo. It’s about exhaust length. The more length you have, the more opportunity you have to tune the sound.

so, if I am reading this correctly, length matters?

Lol!!!
CJ - Can I assume that you will get to test drive the 992 before majority of us? It would be awesome if somehow you could tell us all about the PSE of the 992 prior to launch (with Porsche's blessing...like its louder or same as 991.2)

I have a 991.1 GTS and really enjoy the exhaust sound. I am not satisfied with the 991.2 PSE sound. So I am hoping that Porsche improves the exhaust sound on the 992.
I heard a rumor that the 992 motor was being moved forward some more like they did in the 991 but not as radical of a move but still moving it forward. So if they improve the sound of the PSE I will be ready to move up to the 992. May have to wait on the GTS.

I think aside from decibels that the length of the exhaust will also affect the resonant sound frequencies (like organ pipes - longer ones can support longer wavelengths of sounds - allowing them to extend lower in frequency)
