Default OPF removal- Dont do it!

So I'll be the sacrificial donkey and share with community. Just don't do it. Yes sound without OPF with even stock center is awesome (perfect).......but the newest cars either have an ECU update or different cat monitoring algorithm. This leaves you with a CEL that won't go away even after clearing with newest PIWIS. Going to buy a new set of factory headers even though I absolutely love the sound.

Thank you for sharing this because I was planning on doing the same thing. However, my understanding was that only the EU spec'd cars will give you the CEL with the OPFs removed.

Interesting. When was your car produced?

Mine was produced 7/16/21 - 9/8/21. I have no codes.

Hello Raymort, (just so l have a clear understanding of the facts) do you still have the factory exhaust on your car? With no OPFs
I have an October of 21 build and was wanting to remove my OPFs

Thanks for the warning! my car came in the same boat than yours (April production) so I think I will have the same problem...Did you check if when the opfs were removed there was any damage to the catalytic converters? Did you check the o2 sensors ?

Hmm there is no active monitoring of the opf. Are you sure the cats weren’t damaged?

First time hearing this for U.S version. Other people on here did not have check engine light on after removing.
