It’s an easy fix. Get the other pads and save the originals for the next owner.
What are the other pads? Are they track friendly?

I’ve been using the OEM PCCB pads for the 991.2. Been doing fine.

Will be changing out the brakes for AP Racing kit very soon.

Just heard back from my SA that they are still not orderable.

One can only hope Sam’s region is part of a slow reintroduction of the option bring available again, if it’s even true he was able to spec them

Sorry to hear. I wanted PCCBs, had them on my build, Porsche told me I had to remove them, and now I have a touring with steels and I’m still in love with the car. Have a dealer / installer for surface transforms down the road and May go that route if I feel like I’m really missing out in a couple years.

Can't wait until all this gets back to normal. I would think Porsche would prioritize the PCCB's for the higher models.

My lock date was 6/1 and production starts this coming week. My dealer said I needed to remove PCCB and Matrix lights were unavailable as well. So I had to take them off.

So you were past the lock date and then the dealer said you needed to remove those items? Or did that happen before your vehicle locked? Also, first I’ve heard of Matrix lights having restrictions…

I’d never own this car without both of these. Also you cant just retrofit PCCB to a steel car without some tuning as ABS has different programming. I wouldnt bother Matrix retrofit as the cost would probably in high 4 to low 5 figures.

Seriously? Do you believe the Porsche steel brakes are inadequate?

Its the brake dust. It is horrible and latches on to everything and becomes a major headache if you do drive your cars. If you just put 1200 miles/year, then maybe not a big deal. Iron dust from the pads get sprayed everywhere and the only way to deal with it is IronX.

No I dont feel PCCB performance difference if thats what you were asking.

I would probably pass as well. I lucked out and my GTS has the PCCB's. Hopefully when my number comes up for a GT3 the PCCB's are available as well as all the other options.

3-Pedals,

It might have skipped your mind but .....................

You do realize that the GT4 has the same exact (Steel-Brakes) that came on the Porsche GT3 stock, right ???

Anyway while in Mexico about a month ago as I was also down in San Antonio, Texas.
I can definitely state that a few times or so I was plus 100 mph and even 130 plus mph and my GT4 had Zero-Issues stopping and I also have aftermarket Hawk Ceramic pads all around.
I should mention a few members said these Hawk Ceramic pads would Never-Ever stop my GT4.

Bo
nus, No-Black brake-dust............

The internet sites have lots and lots and lots of opinions but sometimes some of those opinions are Not actually Factual.

Terry

I had PCCB's on my 991.2 911 Turbo S. They were beautiful brakes and produced almost ZERO dust. That said, I've conversed with those that have the "new, improved" PCCB's on their Spyder and have complained about the "nasty, sticky brake dust" they produce, quite unlike the earlier version. Perhaps this is one of the items Porsche is sorting through with the new PCCB pads.
