For the OCD trackers...

Here is a listing of present and anticipated ship departures and ports of call out of Emden for PWL (the group that ships Porsches).

Looks like the Siem Cicero is set to sail out today with stops in Baltimore (Sept 23) and Houston (Sept 29).

The next ship in line is the Bishu Highway with a planned departure on Sept 16/17 with stops in Halifax (Set 27), Davisville (Sept 29), and Houston (Oct 6).

From what I can tell, the next ship that will go to Jacksonville (for PEC ATL delivery) is the Siem Plato. It appears it will leave around Sept 23/24 and get to Jacksonville around Oct 9.

Enjoy...

Thanks. Mine just got assigned this ship but just arrived to Emden on 9/8 so I doubt mine will make it this time around.

What ship are you assigned to?

I need some clarification. Does Porsche put the cars on the ship at Emden or are they already loaded when the ship arrives in Emden? If the former, won’t it take some time to load all of the cars?

As I understand it PWL (a logistics/shipping company) handles the shipping and transportation. I believe they are the ones that move the cars from the factory to Emden. The cars are then loaded on the vehicle carrier at Port Emden on the next available ship for the car's destination port. From what I hear, if the car arrives to the port 2-3 days before the ship departs, it should make it on that ship.

From YouTube videos, they load (and unload) the ships pretty fast. There are quite a few people that drive them on and another set that straps them down using the car's tow hooks.

I bet you make it. I don’t think the TYD will post ship info until PWL has it assigned to the ship.

Sounds like you had perfect timing!

My GT3 arrived at Emden on 9/8 and has also been assigned to the Siem Cicero.

That would be cool! TYD says loaded eta is 9/24 which obviously doesn't line up with the schedule of that ship.

Nice. Hope we both make it!

This is really good info - thanks for posting. Looks like my ship will be SIEM ARISTOTLE since it is departing week 41 and my Emden arrival date is Oct 8th. If that is the case, it will knock off three weeks from my transport time. Crossing fingers.

Looks like I'm hopefully on the same boat. A flurry of activity in the TYD app over the past few days. Started production on 7/2, completed on 9/8, and was in transit to Emden Port the same day. I'm not sure if it's arrived at Emden yet, but TYD is showing it getting on Siem Cicero with an estimated date of 10/1.

My CT arrived in Emden today. The next ship sailing to the US west coast is the Rhea Leader. It was also supposed to arrive in Emden today but now won't arrive until early tomorrow (11 Sept). What are the odds my vehicle will make it onto the ship? :roflmao:

jfr0317 09-10-2021 07:25 PM

About 30 minutes ago I received a notification from MarineTraffic that the Siem Cicero has reported Baltimore as its next destination with an ETA of 9 AM EDT on 9/21/21. It must be about to get underway.

I bet pretty good. It looks like they anchor offshore until they are ready to load. I believe they load them up pretty fast. Based on the excel sheet, it is set to depart on Sept 13. That’s actually a lot of time to allow for docking and loading up.
