Default 991 Garage lift - need recommendations

I am leaning on a Bendpak 4-post at my new house/new garage.
While mainly for storage of my incoming 991.2 GTS, i will likely get the platform jack accessories to perform tire changes, and such. I also enjoy doing some minor maintenance, oil changes, and plan to install an Akrapovik slip on exhaust this winter.

The new garage has interior dimensions of 24' x 36' and is a three stahl with tall ceilings (10'+)

Due to this, looking at a narrow, extra tall lift HD-9STX shipped for around $2985 (direct).

Anyone have any experience with this unit or alternatives? Due to safety, i am only interested in getting a high quality unit - no cheap knock-offs.

i have the bendpak hd-9, got it installed about a year ago. it works. if you want quality fit and finish pay a little more for something else made here. but for the price i thought it was a good value.

I've had a Direct Lift in my garage for about 10 years. It's the same format as the BendPak. There are a few brands that are similar. It's been great. It's tall enough to park my full size Lexus SUV under it.

With 24' x 36' - presumably you have 12' for each stall. Why not go HD-9XW? You have plenty of space in a single stall for the W model.

That's the unit I plan to install once I finish building my detached garage to hold my toys...

I went through this same exercise about a year ago. I ended up going with Backyard Buddy for many reasons. Post's are 4in square, not channeled. Floor mounting is not required. Made in the USA. Can order in nearly any color config you want. While it was a bit more expensive, it wasn't double the price. I think I paid about $5,500 at the time. I ended up getting the 7000LB extended with wheel casters and rolling jack platform. If you have the room get the extended. You will have little to no overhang and has increased height.

Outstanding!
I've seen backyardbuddy advertisement in P-car magazines but didn't know anything else about them.
I will take a look....thanks.

Good point. I figured that i should get a smaller footprint lift to maximize space in the garage.

But...i will reevaluate since that makes sense.

Are you happy with the backyard buddy? Any regrets or criticisms? I was considering this option myself.

Very happy. The build quality compared to other lifts I was considering is superior. Thier videos and online information is spot on. I was glad I chose the extended version for the extra height and length. I had the room though. 12ft ceilings and a tandem garage helped. I have the 110v pump, and it works great with no issues. Lift speed from floor to the full up position is about 30 seconds. Very stable in any position. A buddy from work helped me put it together, about killed us though. He said jokingly to never ask for his help again. Either pay to have someone install (BYB can provide a referral) or make sure you have an engine hoist to support the frame during the building process as shown in the instructions. Overall, well worth the extra cash for a BYB vs. others in my opinion.

Shipping wise, I used BYB service. They delivered to a local depo, and I picked it up with a rented U-Haul trailer.

While researching this subject, I landed on Bendpak. Too many stories about sketchy behavior from the BYB folks out there, and Bendpak is certified.

I have a lift in my garage in NC (can't remember the manufacturer) and it works great. It is a four post drive on item. My suggestion is to have a pro install it. I am pretty mechanical, but they used 2 guys 8 hours for assemble - plus did all of the unloading.

I'd also recommend a pro install. On my hd9-swx https://m.summitracing.com/search/product-line/bendpak-hd-9swx-super-wide-car-stacker-parking-lifts/maximum-lift-height-in/89-000-in it took nearly a day for two guys that knew what they were doing.
