Consider a water filter system for your hose, or buy distilled water at the marker and keep a dedicated garden sprayer for your rinse. If your tap water is half as sediment rich as mine, water spots are a constant battle. My wife's car is black, and every drop of water leaves a mess.

Jet Black Metallic is more forgiving with dirt/dust than non metallic black. When my Jet Black metallic C2S Cab is clean it is drop dead gorgeous. But as soon as I take it for a drive it’s showing dust again. Most folks think the car is still clean but I can see the grime, particularly on the rear end.

I’m using a water deionizer for washing and a Master Blaster to dry it off, so towels mostly don’t touch the car, only to soak up residual water the Master Blaster has left. Towel selection is critical as the dreaded swirls will start to appear if not careful. My 911 is gorgeous, but frankly I’m thinking about ordering a base 991.2 in a more forgiving color as I’m getting weary keeping this one clean. YMMV

So what's the best how-to article for washing a car? I've heard about 2 buckets, and deionized water, leaf blowers, etc. But I haven't seen a full article on this - how to wash a car.

Yep, my black car is a mess - complete with swirls - and needs a polish and detail, along with some good washings

I've owned a few black cars but don't anymore simply because of all the imperfections that start to show after time. Yes you can take great care to maintain the finish however if you drive the car it's going to be susceptible to all that roads have to offer. Now, if you plan to buy it and keep it for a few years maybe it's not as big an issue as if you plan to keep longer term. Good luck with your decision.

In order to avoid the negatives of a black car I clear bra my whole car with Modesta coating. So any swirls will self heal and I can be a lot more careless in washing.

I've had my black '17 C2S for about 2 weeks. Beautiful when clean but I now notice every imperfection, water mark, dust, etc. My 2014 GT Silver base 911 was washed at local car wash about every 2 weeks. I've washed this new one myself 3 times in 2 weeks. Not sure if that's because of the newness factor or the color. I'm pretty sure I made the right decision...pretty sure. Time will tell.

I searched a bunch of threads on this forum to get tips for washing myself, 2 bucket method, microfiber towels and wash mitt, etc. Good luck.

A water filter for your hose? Where do you get that, Home Depot?

I don't understand asking for advice on colors. For me there's only one color that will do, and if literally every person on rennslist said they hate it, I wouldn't even pause to reconsider.

Seach nationwide for the right car in the color you love. If it's black, get that otherwise get whatever you like better. Yes dark colors can be more work but that's nothing compared to driving around a car you aren't 100% happy with.

My dad wasn't right, often, , but he was right when he said, "everyone owns ONE black car in their car owning lifetime". Maybe this is the ONE you'll own.
