We are happy to announce that Porsche has finally made the 991.2 Carrera S X51 PowerKit retrofit available!

optimized engine management, new engine compartment styling trim cover with Carbon inserts, and optional Sport Exhaust System (if not equipped).

*Only for Carrera S/4S models with Sport Chrono Package (QR5). If you don't have Sport Exhaust, you MUST add it.

For some models, additional hardware is required for installation. Fits 2017 or newer 911 Carrera S , Carrera 4S, or Targa 4S models. Special order.

The labor must be a lot less than doing the 991.1 X51 upgrade which meant dropping the engine and doing a lot of work on it.

Curious on estimated labor hours and cost?

I'm sure the Porsche number to install will be outrageous but the 991.2 power kit is a DIY imho.

Seems legit for more lag and no noticeable power on the street.

Since it's simply a bigger turbo and tune then there will be significant competition from aftermarket and the 450bhp will seem laughable.

Well, I've seen no aftermarket yet other than software.

Don't think many companies see it as a profitable thing to pursue since the 911 crowd isn't a huge "mod one". If BMW, would be a different story. The 911 crowd is older and more conservative. Maybe did this stuff years back on other cars, and know it's mostly money down the drain and are over it. Most 911 buyers like unmolested cars too.

Just give it a little time. Plenty of aftermarket turbos for TURBOs and that is an even smaller segment.

Better off buying a GTS to start in my opinion rather than mess with after the fact work. Much cheaper too in the bundled GTS package.

Yeah over time, there will be plenty. It's hard to find an unmolested older turbo.

How does one add sport chrono? Can one add sport chrono without the clock thing? Rev matching would be nice, but I hate the wart.

At this time there is no retrofit for Sport Mode software or the clock. Sport Mode is not available on .1 cars as a retrofit so we think the same will apply for the .2 cars.

The X51 is only available for cars that have Sport Chrono Plus as an option and must be accompanied with PSE

I just don't see how all of that only adds 30hp; I would think a tune alone should net over 50hp

There is anothe thread on here where someone stated just a GIAC tube adds 80hp... yet no meaningful performance from some of the time slips associated with the tune. GIAC has questionable quality anyway but the tune is stated to add a lot of power.

Speak for yourself. I bought the car to mod.

911 Turbos are modified frequently as well. The number of people tuning will be larger due to the volume of the motor.
