Installed the SOUL Performance Sport Catalytic converters on my car this week. Instruction said that bumper removal is not required. I looked at this as a good DIY but the O2 sensor before the converter looked very difficult to remove without removing the bumper. Drove it to the shop.
They replaced the CATS WITHOUT removing bumper. 3 hrs. Shop said these are the best fit aftermarket CATs they have ever fitted to a 991. Kudos to SOUL for a great product.

But, the O2 sensors are too delicate and shop damaged one. They removed bumper to trouble shoot sensor since CATS were already on and found the heater core or circuit was damaged. There are no O2 sensors in the US so have to wait one week to get fixed. Shop also used the O2 sensor removal tool vs a 22mm socket per instructions from SOUL to avoid damaging the sensor.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/TEKTON-3...B&gclsrc=aw.ds

Therefore, it may not be required to remove rear bumper, but it is certainly recommended when the O2 sensors have to be removed. Sensors cost $200 ea. Not cheap.

The shop is taking full responsibility and will remediate wo cost to me. Small shop so I may help them out.

When mine were installed by my Indy Shop (Pulse Racing) they did not remove the bumper but were very careful when removing the sensors and did not have problems.

Yes, 4" double-wall. And I painted the mounting hardware black so they blend in.

Hi Mike! I ordered my cat bypass pipes last week, and now considering ordering a set of 4 inch straight cut tips in satin black. Do you happen to have a set in stock? Thanks!

Hey! Thank you for choosing us! We have a set of slash cut in stock but would have to build the 4" straight and get them coated.

i had my morally reprehensible cat bypass pipes installed today. With the PSE open, the car brings out my inner hooligan and my initial impression is that i love it. with exhaust closed, sound isnt much different that stock. Also, Ive only driven 15 miles, but no CELs. fingers crossed.

Enjoy, you hooligan! The design of the secondary piping into PSE results in that stock like valves closed note (it's an offshoot of the main pipe instead of a direct pipe). We're glad you love it!

Awesome! Everyone is unique. What some consider drone, others consider tone. The smell could cause someone to remove them, another may chalk it up to the race car sensation. All you can do is try to build to a high quality standard and reduce any negative aspects of a product while bolstering the good. Cheers for enjoying race flavor though!

It's time for 991.2 Non-PSE rear exhaust development!
