I hate to break this to you, but there's more to car emissions than greenhouse gasses. If you're seriously in denial about that, I suggest you spend an hour or two in your garage with the engine running and the garage doors closed. Or visit Beijing. Or Los Angeles.
The VW diesel emissions scam was about nitrogen oxides (NO, NO2), not CO2. Nitrogen oxides are not something you want to breath if you value your lungs. The VW TDIs ran about 10x-15x the legal limit of NOx emissions, about 20x that of a 911.
Should they be keeping these cars at the dock? Probably not. Are the inspectors justified in feeling a little paranoia about a company owned by VW? Given that it was an intentional cheat, and a really nasty one, I can see the logic.

Well, now I'm glad my delivery date was pushed to august a bit ago, wouldn't have made the difference if it was ready now lol. That really sucks for you guys who's cars are ready and you lose a month of ownership.

I really feel they should somehow compensate us.

It's not really Porsche's fault though. I'm sure Porsche wants to get your car to you as soon as possible. It's the EPA that is to blame. If they are truly worried about faking emissions, why don't they just have some of the EPA folks go to the ports and randomly smog cars? Should only take a day max. It's just all posturing. Like overzealous security guards or TSA agents exploiting their powers.

No compensation necessary. The other thing to remember is it used to take 3-4 months to get an ordered car to you. Now it's almost a quarter of the time. When they need to consider compensation is when you've paid for the car and then they take the car back from you and hold it ala 991.1 GT3's.
