There may be some different experiences out there, but I would be EXTREMELY reluctant to pull a snug-fitting car cover on and off of any vehicle with a nice/new/soft paint finish.

Unless the car is perfectly clean, the snug cover will surely 'scrape' the clear coat depending on the amount of crud. These won't be swirl marks, but something similar.

For the truly ****/retentive, I recommend lightly 'draping' 2 flannel bed sheets - front of the car and back - rather than using a snug/fitted cover.

Not so kewl for your garage shots to Rennlist, but way cheaper/mo better :-)
Agree.....however, I plan to only use it after a thorough wash and winterizing purposes.

I hand wash very carefully, and have more supplies than most professional detailers

Looks like your car will be on the Viking Bravery
I received additional info from my SA in Ann Arbor.

It is on the Viking Queen.

Everything is EARLY! Possibly 15 days early at dealer if all goes well.
I have a VIN, and a few other items my SA provided me.
Looks like Pirelli tires too.

They always build in 7 days extra to the time on board ship. Your Porsche schedule shows entry to Davisville on the 29th, but the ship schedule shows the 25th. It seems like the major variables are when your car gets to board a ship, since that depends on schedules and the queue, and how long it takes for the car to get on a truck after it's done in Davisville.

That last can be longer than you might think, since they want to move several cars at the time time going the same way. Still, dealer inventory around 10/2 (25 days early compared to original ETA) is quite possible.

More goodies arrived....just need the car to get to port (Davisville) in the next few days. The wait is getting worse.

Blazin-

Are you going to run stock exhaust for a period of time and do comparo to the akrapovic?

Interested to hear your thoughts all the way around but inparticular on the exhaust. Exhaust note on my .2 only thing that falls short of my previous .1.

Again would appreciate any reviews.

Ps- your car will be very very special in chalk!

Thanks Mike.
Yes, I plan to use stock for a month during break-in.
That will give me a better idea what it's like on a day by day basis (before hibernation).

Then, I plan to swap over to the Akra slip-on as a winter project.
Not entirely sure if I'll put on the cat bypass pipes at the same time.

I'll probably take a few measurements and videos before going the next step.
I'll look into a decibel meter so I can share some un-scientific data with you all

Thanks. I look forward to your un-scientific data!

Until then can I ask why you chose 1.cat bypass instead of sport cats and 2. full exhaust vs just cat bypass?

I've listened to a lot of the products out there for the .2 and thought the cat bypass was definitely louder than sport cats (probably obvious statement) but interested in your decision point as a lot vendors on here have even said sport cats are way to go and stock pse pretty good. Thanks again.

Why cat bypass over sport cats?
1) Louder
2) Better performance due to less restriction
2) cheaper
3) Fabspeed O2 sensors prevent CEL or needing a tune

Why not just sport cats instead of Full exhaust?
1) Akrapovic's reputation as one of the best of the best
2) Akra puts more research into testing and worked on this design (991.2) for 9+ month. I believe they have maximized sound but more importantly, improved performance. Specific to these new cars with amazing stock exhaust systems, its getting harder to find the balance of sound AND performance.

+28.5 lb ft @ 2650 rpm
+19 HP @ 6600 rpm

No prob!

Also, I will save nearly 20 lbs over stock as well, so there's a weight savings as well (slip on 10# and cat bypass 10#).

Below is the combination of Akra Sport Cats AND the slip on unit.

+34 lb ft torque @2300 rpm
+23 HP @ 5700 rpm

Wow Luke (reading from beginning now and realizing your name - apologies) those gains are impressive. I might copy what you have done. Last question on the exhaust I swear...it is valves so you can go to "quiet" mode correct?

Finally as I re-read the entire thread I realized you went chalk on graphite/chalk. Since Porsche designers paired chalk and graphite (the two best colors Porsche has going) and they know what they are doing when it comes to design I'm actually surprised a few more people haven't done what you did (at least from what I've seen here on rennlist) and paired with chalk exterior with the graphite popping against both. I think you might just have hit the winning combo. Please post pics when it arrives especially if you can get pics showing the interior against the exterior.

Sounds good....will do!

Yes, my wife gets sick of the Sport Exhaust valves being open all the time, so its important to close the valves on occasion to appease her.

Also surprised that more people do not spec chalk interior w/ chalk exterior. Even more surprised that Porsche manual didn't recommend the combo. Hope I didn't mess up!
