Bought it and installed it. IMO. It was not much of a difference from stock original except the height. Went with a numeric racing short shifter instead. Huge difference. Have it in my garage if anyone is interested.

I did install the GT4 short shift kit. I like it. Notchier, shorter feel, tighter.

We did an OEM short shifter on a 997 Turbo and I have to say, I was pretty impressed! Easy install and good feel without being too crazy.

Very, very different kettle of fish.

I love mine. Definitely an improvement. Search for threads I started and you will see my install and impressions thread.

Also, buy it from Sunset Porsche and save a bunch. Like $100, IIRC.

I like it. The shorter shift is from a lower handle and increases shift effort minimally. The real benefit is from the springs that center the shifter horizontally. I think it makes a large positive difference in knowing what gear you are going into. You can really feel the difference. Cost isn't that high, and there are several how-to articles and videos that make it an easy evening project.

I installed this myself a couple of weeks ago. I really like it. I bought it unused from another Rennlister and saved a few bucks. It was kind of fun to install really. I think this is the way the shifter should come from the factory. Short, smooth and nice and mechanical. Worth the money on this mod for sure.

GT4 short-shifter is a worthwhile improvement. Stock is too tall and sloppy. The short-shifter addresses both.

Most reviews I've seen on the bushing indicate they have taken it out shortly after installing it.

I had my Porsche short shift kit installed by Porsche dealer for my 2012 GTS. I wouldn't say there was a HUGE difference in throw reduction but it is noticeable. This is one of those mods I wouldn't consider as controversial. It's more like an upgrade option that wasn't clicked during original build. Get it. Have no doubts. It's worth the marginal cost. Should come as standard but then, someone would build an even shorter shift kit.
