I have a pretty similar policy to you and I'm at about 1600/year but I have one point for a stop sign violation that is about to drop off

There are many factors. Location being a BIG one, when all other things are equal (age, history, item). One other, not commonly known, is Credit Score. There are algorithms relating credit scores and risk as related to insurance premiums. But, in general, comparing insurance premiums, is a lot like mattress shopping.

All I know is State Farm does about a $500 autopay every month for 2 cars, home, vacay condo and $1M Umbrella policy. It's been awhile since I looked at how that sausage is made.

I think I'll give GEICO a call to compare. I've never been fond of getting inundated with GEICO commercials, but from what I am reading here they have pretty good rates.

They have good rates, but their service is "mass production" and the coverage is sometimes sub par. For example they don't cover rider gear other than helmet on motorcycle insurance. Progressive does, but costs twice as much for our bikes per years, so we could theoretically buy a new set for each of us every two years. And that's the freakishly expensive BMW and Stadler gear ...

thanks for all the feedback on this thread. I have switched from Allstate to Liberty Mutual and cut my insurance cost in half, while increasing my coverage for liability. I just hope that Liberty is good to me if I need them.

I have 3 cars with Geico, my 4S, my wife's Macan S and a new Jeep for my winter driving and we pay $243/month. The highest to insure is the Jeep cheapest is my 4S.
