Default How did you get your car?

Posted this in the Turbo thread as well but I was curious how some of us got our cars. One reason I purchased mine CPO was depreciation was factored into the price, so a better deal.

CPO - this was a dream of mine and I don't have the bank roll to buy a new one or pay cash and be comfortable hitting my other financial goals.

Also - I'm a value shopper so CPO hit the bullseye + better than new warranty on a 1200 mile car.

Very smart. The CPO warranty alone makes it a great choice. I will be buying a Turbo later this year and I am going to wait and find the perfect CPO and let someone else eat the depreciation.

I bought mine new off lot because it was freaking perfect and I was smitten. However, I had gone to the lot to buy a CPO 2016 Turbo Cab. But after driving a 991.2 I was sold.

Shopped for about 6 months and when I found my car I sold my 356 and purchased outright. Paid 126k with cpo.

Loved my 61 sunroof coupe but no ac and 100hp got old. That and absolutely could not drive if rain was in the forcast due to numerous leaks.

Bought "new". Was a leftover '15 C2S that had everything I wanted (White, PDK, PSE, SC, Glassroof, etc).

2014 Boxster 981 S: Ordered to spec. European Delivery.
2018 C4: Ordered to spec. European Delivery.

I plan on keeping them both for a very long time (> 10 years each) so I don't care about depreciation. The cars are a consumable to me.

If I am going to spend this much money on cars then I am going to get them exactly like I want them and make some really cool memories driving them around in Europe.

CPO, to appease my conscience (depreciation) and limit risk (not knowledgeable enough to buy from private party of non Porsche dealership).

Would do the same again...

Bought a cpo 14 beautiful stripper, but she had issues. Paid it off quick and traded her for a 17 base with most of what I wanted and all I wanted to spend. Love and need and use the torque and trying not to look back but the beauty of the stripper still haunts me.

An interesting observation since I saw this thread and voted earlier in the day. Earlier in the day, the votes were much more skewed to CPO. As it gets later into the evening, the bought-new votes are surging (both categories combined). Maybe more bought-new guys are working during the day and more CPO owners are in their retired years? ???
