Could never get a reasonable discount when I lived in the SF Bay Area. That said, I bought 2 Porsches from Fremont, 1 from Stevens Creek, and 1 from Rector. Of those, Fremont was the best; cannot recommend Stevens Creek, as my SA was not knowledgeable, very slow to get back to me, and had an alcohol issue. Additionally, when my car was stuck at the port for a couple of weeks, he was unhelpful, and when I escalated to the SM -- he basically told me to take a flying **** (offered to refund my deposit). I called Porsche USA -- they located the car at the port, and got it to the dealer the next day.

Southern CA is nirvana for buying a Porsche -- had a great experience with South Bay Porsche in Hawthorne -- good discount (5.5%), great SA. Beverly Hills Porsche was very competitive, as well.

Unfortunately, in the SF Bay Area, you are competing with the Googlers, Facebookers, etc. It's nirvana for the dealers, not so much for you.

@C.J. Ichiban, I am sending you a PM and an email

@Drifting, yes that Sport Chrono option seems compulsory for me

@GBRider / @Leecw / @Larry Cable / thank you for the infos.

Is there a Porsche web site where you can check the delivery progression ?

@Dewinator, could you explain "a 911 is not your best choice" ?

@motobell, why would I need the Sports Exhausts ? I have understood that it is only for the "sound", correct ?

personally if you are getting a 991.2 I believe the sports exhaust is a *must have* otherwise the car sounds (at best) like a dyson vacuum cleaner and
not a sports car...

I really encourage you (if you are in any doubt about this) to go drive and listen to cars with and w/o ... before its too late!

Sports Exhaust is a MUST HAVE IMO, especially for desirability on the secondary market should you decided to sell it private party. And as a personal preference I really like the dual pipes in the middle.

Great suggestions it seems. California is Porsche USA.

Here is a classic C2 build from us.

https://porschefresno.com/inventory/...tallic+1096084

This is GT Silver. Think Carrera GT- most all are GT Silver. Timeless 911 color. 1st year I've ever seen it not cost $3k. The two tone interior is choice with the red deviated stitching. Sport Seats are the best in the business. Just my .02

CJ the boss has weighed in - I'm saying Hi. If we can help you at Porsche Fresno let us know.

Cheers,

NB

Thank you all for your advices,

I finally decided to get mine from Porsche of Monterey.

Aaron, Ray and Gary were all great and pro and made my experience very cool. I did not get the exact build I wanted (was missing the glass roof and the sport exhausts but all the other options were present: PDK, Sport Chrono, Power Steering Plus, LCA, Bose, Power Seats 14w, Power Entry, Auto Dimming, Turbo Wheels and a few more).

I would like to mention that:

- C.J. Wilson and his team from Porsche Fresno were also real top dogs and very competitively priced. I will definitely contact them for the next build ;-)

- Brett from Sonnen Porsche was also a real blast and was really trying to help me

- honorable mention for Mike from Porsche San Diego and Christian from Porsche Rancho Mirage

The worst dealers I have seen (they did not give a s*** about me):

- Steven's Creek
- Fremont
- Niello (I was surprised by that, really)

Also I learned that you can have a "pull ahead" after 24mo on your 36mo lease. Sounds all great :-)

Let me know if you want to know more.

if you are in a lease and you want to trade up to a newer model, you can effectively "pull ahead" (up to 12months I think) the end of your current
lease at no financial penalty

Late to the game, but my advice if you're looking to buy off the lot is to look at all of the local dealers and focus on the car you want as much as whether they returned your email quickly or not. Based on my experience reviewing local inventory the last couple of years, it has become evident to me that the dealers each have a different flair for speccing cars and for the type of low mileage used cars they keep in inventory. One dealer might lean very sporty, while the other might lean more luxury. If you just focus on a single dealership here locally, you might not get a great cross section of the types of builds available to you.

@Joec500 yes a "pull ahead" is the capability to swap to another car just after 24mo. Porsche Financial Services is waiving those 12 remaining months as far as you get another car.

@Archimedes I agree and yes this is actually what I have done. I spent many hours looking at inventory up to L.A. ...

The "pull ahead" program is how I got into this 911. My first Porsche was a Cayman, but it was lacking the speed and a few features. My only penalty was for mileage. It's nice to have options to go to lease end, change it out after 24 months, or buy it.
