Default Outer door sill removal

Looking for info on best way to remove the outer door sills on my 991 4S. Want to replace with CF versions.
Did a search but could not find anything on this. Also did a you tube search and could not find anything either.
Any help appreciated.

They are attached with double sided tape if I recall correctly. Might have to use nylon fish line to get underneath and cut through the tape.

Or heat gently with a blow dryer and use a plastic pry tool as well.

The originals are held in place with 2 sided tape? I thought they were secured in some way. Fishing line is a good start if this is the case.

I believe only tape, but I'm sure someone will confirm. I think 6Speed had a thread on it one time possibly.

Have a look at new parts. That will explain it.

These Germans... using double sided tape instead of lava from the fires of Mount Doom to secure the doors sills... highly disappointed!

Thanks will do. I'll order the new ones then do the deed. I'll use fishing line.

just removed mine today (to install oem carbon fiber Carrera GTS ones). i first warmed the exterior using a heat gun.....then used a macarbon upholstery tool to pry the edge up, then lifted up while warming the underneath area with the heat gun.....i kept pulling up slowly while heating the underside until finally reaching the other end (pull two hands, then heat area, pull two hands, then heat area). a decent amount of tape/adhesive was left behind which required adhesive remover, heat, and a polycarbonate plastic blade to remove. clean the area with some diluted simple green, let dry, then apply said door sills .

time to remove: two hours easy.

hope it helps,
