I'm not waiting either. Probably do the first one myself at 1.5K and will send an oil sample for analysis to establish a baseline. Will then take it to the dealership at 5.5K or 1 year, whichever comes first, for the free service. Only downside of that is that I'll have to rely on the dealership to capture a second oil sample for me.

My car is a 2017 911S cab (991.2) which may require a newer reader than older models.

You're welcome. I have the icarsoft POR II, and it works to reset the service indicators out of the box.

I did the procedure yesterday, with the able assistance of my across-the-street neighbor. It went just as Bkrantz said it would.
Cyberbug, for reference, mine took exactly 9 quarts of Mobile 1, which left the oil level monitor a hair below "Full."
That's after letting the oil drain for 45 minutes to an hour, at which point the flow had stopped, but the drain hole was still dripping/weeping just a bit.

I'm not sure why you would want to, to be honest. It's really easy to remove and put back in. It's a lot easier to get that stuff out of the way and it gives you an opportunity to clean/inspect it.
the point where he uses a plastic trim removal tool to remove the cable connector from the air intake assembly. Seems risky that it will break.
I'll be doing mine again Friday so I'll pay better attention, in order I can give you a better answer. Honestly I just kinda wiggled it out, I didn't use a trim tool. If I recall it came out really easy.

If you don't want to replace the filter, you could always just drain and change the oil at 5K miles and have the dealer do the whole thing every 10K. Not as good as complete change obviously but would still be of some benefit.

I used a trim tool and the post of connectors got pretty beat up. Higher up in this long thread, someone suggested squeezing the flanges on the post to make it easier to get out, I wish I had remembered
