Dealers offering discounts off msrp - 991.2 gts orders?
All,
after testing a 991.2 base model today, I am interested in ordering a no options gts for around November delivery. Are there any dealers that any of you have used to get a discount off msrp on a gts?
One of my local Houston dealers offered 3% off a base model order with no negotiation, but the base model with the few options I want is already 100k which is too close to the gts for comfort. Might as well go big. They indicated they did not offer discounts off msrp for the gts model.
thanks to anyone who can help point me, and others considering a gts, in the right direction.
thank you

The dealership I went to was offering a small discount off of MSRP since I knew one of the managers, but a pretty decent discount on a C4S, so I ordered a C4S with a power kit and saved a bunch of money from the GTS I would have ordered.

would you be able to share the discount and or dealer?
certainly could put an s model in the mix if the discount differential between the s and gts is large

Dealers really aren't discounting those very much at the moment. I'm a long time customer of my dealer (don't want to think about the amount of cars I've gotten) and I'm getting 4-5% on mine. Even getting an order isn't that easy.

Thanks for the intel. Possible that a base or s may be a better value thank I think due to the larger available discount.

Don't forget though, these are going to hold value significantly better than the base/s/4s lineup though, so if that matters to you then make sure you factor that into your cost/benefit.

Do you know how allocations work?

That is, know the discount you want (8% is a good one), know the price you want to pay for your build (+ delivery). Know how you want to finance. Then start calling dealers nationwide. Sound like a buyer and not a tire kicker, so, when the initial call screener asks: "when are you looking to buy this car?", you say: "Today." Be ready for rejection. Be ready to pony up a large down payment (5 figures). Most of all, before you pick up the phone, be ready to say "yes."
Don't be a prisoner of the "rare allocation so I need to wait around" mindset. There's a dealer out there who needs the money gingling in your pocket. You just have to find him.

Have you seen March Porsche sales? Not good. Lot's of inventory = buyers market = 8% easy, IMO.
