A few of you wanted to know about my experience at great Falls Exxon. First, I haven't had service done at a service station in many years. Normally, I take my cars to the dealership as I purchase or the car has an included service contract. The service station was quite busy. As I was chatting with my advisor the guy next to me was setting up an inspection for his daughter's Bentley. The parking lot is full of cars that had or are waiting for service. They asked me to fill a form so that they could put my information in their computer system - wasn't expecting that. They were extremely patient as I decided on what tire pressures to use. Super nice guys, and knowledgeable.
**For you guys wanting to know, they do an "oil change" - it's a service interval (you will see below) and they estimated about $150 but you need to call with your own details.**
I handed over my key fob, and went back to the alcove and sat in one of two chairs next to the cell phone charging station, ice cream freezer, and drink fridge. It's a mechanics kind of place and feel - a welcoming jeans kind of place where real work is being done.
They told me it would take two hours to put the tires on. They said on Porsches (and I assume the exotics they service), they need to take extra time. The person putting on my tires came over to tell me that they were taking my car back now, and that he was going to be the one putting the tires on my 911. So, I wasted time on email and reading, and when the car was done, the person came to me and let me know the car was sitting in the driveway for my inspection. He assured me that I made a good choice on this set of tires, asked me what I wanted to do with the old ones (with 2,000 miles on them), and pointed out that they had no issues installing the tires. He also pointed out that they had throughly cleaned the inside of my rims - beautiful!
He then informed me that they had done a through inspection of the car, realizing it was basically new, but set a benchmark for the car in their system. He told me that they would text the results to me in just a few minutes. By the time I paid my $138 for four tires installed, cleaned rims, and inspection, the text was received. I did a screen capture so the entire inspection can't be seen but you can get the idea (below). The bottom line is that if I decide to buy this one after the lease, I am confident they can perform the proper service.
I'd go for this alone. They'd lose money on my service appointment.
I hope they HAND torqued the wheel bolts to 118 ft.lbs.
What ARE you going to do with the 2,000 mile take-offs?
I didn't ask if they hand torqued them. Do they do that at the dealership?
What am I going to do with the take-offs? Store them in PA. The left rear had a nail in it, so they patched it for me. But if somebody wants them, maybe for track or whatever, I'll take offers.
Yes, they do. Re-check my numbers....19" wheels may have a different, lower, (96 ft.lbs.) torque setting. I'm correct for the 20".

BTW - the owner of the station is a Porsche owner, too, and by the Google photos it seems they do a lot of Porsche service. However, tires and brakes are the two most important things on a car so i will double check! Thanks again.
It forgot about it because their retail outlets were never merged. Maybe EXBIL or MOXON didn't sound good to them.
They could have changed it back to Standard Oil, Exxon being the old Standard Oil of New Jersey, Mobil being the old Standard Oil of New York. Virtually every true major has roots in the old Standard Oil family of companies.
