Default Better track car

what would do a better track car a

09 carrera S

Or

09 cayman S

talking about a basic setup maybe just improvements in brakes for durability, some cooling improvements and bolt-ons

any opinions?

They drive differently. I like both but for my skill level my favorite was the gts boxster on the track.

Cayman. Better balanced. I'll admit my GT4CS is an awesome track ride, but realize it's a bit different.

Cayman will be more intuitive and is lighter weight so you'll likely have more confidence and get up to speed faster. 911 has the rear engine to learn and weighs a bit more but does offer a bit more power, speed, panache, and I don't know but suspect a slightly better suspension.

Both would be great options but for a beginner or intermediate driver I think the Cayman will be the better package and the more fun track car. I prefer mid-engine dynamics and ended up deciding to build a spec boxster.

I think the basic upgrades and the consumables for both cars will probably be comparable, but the biggest difference in cost will be acquiring the vehicle. I want to say a 2009 C2S will probably be close to 2x the price of a 2009 Cayman S.

So if you don't want to break the bank, the Cayman is the better bet.
