Been driving my MT for close to 4 years with no issues. I don't use 7th, maybe twice since I owned it. I don't have any of the wrong gear issues. Been driving MT cars for 40+ years.

I also love the MT. I hardly ever go into 7th and if I do, I'm usually just cruising, so dropping into 6th has not been a problem.
I usually make that shift at around 155

Whoa, that's a fast track!

Wait was that 3rd or 5th? Better look at the dash before I release the clutch. 6th or 4th? Same thing.

OK pay close attention now. You are going for 1st to pull forward, make sure do don't catch reverse by mistake.

It's kind of a shame because I really like this car except for the MT.
Weird, I had a little trouble the first week with getting the gears right, but now I find it flawless. I think my 997 GT3 had the best shifter feel, but this isn't too far behind. I also put a FunctionFirst gear **** on and the added weight and lower height has made it even better.

I went to the Function First as well, a better feel and a better throw means easier more natural shifting.

Amazing, you must not drive much on the highway. I use 7th all the time when I'm not in a hurry, including in the city. Yes, shifting in and out of 7th takes a bit of concentration, but I though the whole point of driving a manual was to maximize driver involvement.

7th is enjoyable on the freeway in light traffic; catch up to the usual lane blockers and 7th to 4th comes in very handy. For the more serious situations as you age there is rev-match. Life's little pleasures!

I'm amazed at how responsive my 991.2 is in 7th at highway speeds. Can easily add speed without downshifting to pass most traffic. Engine is turning around 1850 at 72 mph. If you leave it in 6th, you won't have to worry about it at all.
