Default Room for Road Tire in Rear Space

Since the 991.2 Rear Seat Delete Thread is closed. I would like to answer the question asked there regarding the possibility of fitting a road wheel with a flat tire in the rear after rear seat removal. As shown here, even with the rear seats in place, it fits.

https://rennlist.com/forums/991/9833...-mounting.html

Obviously much easier with the rear seats removed.

As to tie down of the removed road wheel, certainly something can be arranged, but the probability of a road flat followed by a serious crash while driving to a tire repair/replacement facility seems remote enough to me that I would not seriously be concerned.

Yeah, that thread went real south near the end. First time seeing anything getting locked. Lol.

Doesn't Suncoast parts sell a some spare tire kit that you can put on one of your back seats. I have seen it on their page.

FYI. I did not follow that thread much, but the starting author of a thread has the option to close a thread at any time (thread tools, close thread, perform action). But only the original author. Mods can lock/close/and edit any thread. Looks like the guy that started that thread closed it after a few pages. Hope this helps explain it a little.

Don't know for sure, but that thread was likely closed because the OP was not conducting himself like an adult.

Didn't realize you could fit a spare in the rear seats. The guy that described in the other thread is very handy.

Thanks, Drifting. I have some more projects in the works.

And I am pretty sure we can get both a front and rear tire inside the car, lying flat--have to try it to be sure. Then we can go on safari!
