New Member...Warranty Expiring...What Should the Dealer Do????
Hi Everyone,
LONG time lurker, first time poster.
Quick question:
My new car warranty is expiring in two weeks, and I'd like to take my car to the dealer for a full inspection prior to its expiration.
Is there anything I should ask for the technicians to specifically check/inspect??? My dealership fully supports my endeavors, yet I have to mention something specifically for them to inspect a specific area of the car, hence my inquiry. I should note that my car runs faultlessly, is garaged and on a tender when not in use.
Some specifics:
2013 Carrera S coupe
Manual transmission
Sport Chrono
Sport Techno Wheels
Glass Sunroof
Sport Exhaust
Sport Seats
Burmeister
Can't think of anything else in particular that would make my car unique, other than full leather.
Anyway, the car is a Summer car only, and here's the kicker: I've only got about 4,300 miles on it. All services have been completed on time, and at my local Porsche dealership. Car has been bulletproof.
Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.

At 4300 miles almost nothing is showing any wear. However i had both the frunk and hood struts fail in about the same time frame.

Great wheels.
Great interior.
Great trans.
When was last:
Oil change?
Brake fluid flush?
Cross over/change over valves. This is one potential downfall. But, unless they fail, not much you can do to force warranty coverage.

can try squeaking brakes and see if you can get some pads out of it. whining alternator? seriously though, with that mileage there probably isn't anything you need other than maybe a cabin air filter (musty smell perhaps?)

OK...thank you kindly everyone.
I'd never heard of the changeover valve issue, and I'll be sure to mention it (look like I have some research to do). I'll also have them thoroughly inspect the car, as yes, they are paid to perform repairs under warranty, so it is in their best interest to find any correctable faults.
I've only basically had oil changes and their standard "inspection" every Spring.
I may pop for new plugs and a brake fluid flush, as I've noticed those are not just mileage-dependent services, but age as well.
Thanks much everyone, and I'll follow up with the dealer's findings!

okay so this got me doing some research and apparently changover valves are a problem on this car. The bad news is there are 8 of them. There is some debate about whether there was a campaign to fix the known faulty items. What are the symptoms that each of the 8 would exhibit ?

Anecdotally, in my first 991S, a 2012.5, the campaign was done to replace my COVs and nearly year later I had two separate issues that still required replacement of COVs. My heater failed and then my PSE failed (stuck open). I went on to drive the car for 18 more months (until it was about four years old - I then traded it in on my current 991S) and never had any further problems.
On my current 991S, a 2013 with Powerkit (and even more COVs than a regular 991S!), I have had zero COV problems after four years and 19k miles.
