Here is my watch, it auto sets, even when crossing time zones. It is a retired mans watch. In Calgary I do have to change, some clocks do it on their own others you need to set. My Volvo is from hell to set, I need to pull the manual, or ask the wife to do it. My BC place is odd, they move the friggen time zone in my area from one side of my place to other,..... that's no crap. Some crazy rule they put in in WW1 to appease the lumberjacks??. Its all so confusing for an old fart like me.

I kinda use, if its dark out and I'm tried, most likely its time for bed, if its light out and I feel like gettin-up, I do so.

Then there is the clock that is broke and reads the same time, all the time. That is the most accurate clock in the entire world, twice a day. I think I have one of those somewhere in the basement.

OK trivia time, one I know the answer for, the other I do not.

Who came up with the idea for time zones?
Who came up with the idea for Day Light Savings time?

I cheated and Googled

"...American inventor and politician Benjamin Franklin proposed a form of daylight time in 1784. He wrote an essay “An Economical Project for Diminishing the Cost of Light” to the editor of The Journal of Paris, suggesting, somewhat jokingly, that Parisians could economize candle usage by getting people out of bed earlier in the morning, making use of the natural morning light instead.[2] New Zealander George Hudson proposed the idea of daylight saving in 1895.[3] The German Empire and Austria-Hungary organized the first nationwide implementation, starting on April 30, 1916. Many countries have used it at various times since then, particularly since the energy crisis of the 1970s."

I'm in Hawaii. No DST here, just sunshine and ocean. I'll deal with it when I'm home.

Damn it! I hate this time of the year, all the appliances, clocks, watches, and cars. Why did they do this, why?
