It's an expensive fix. A new door panel from the dealer is around $ 3,300 per each. If one side has failed, the other won't be far behind. Other than that, you can try some glue yourself, its caused by the side air bag design / heat / time. I have replaced mine under CPO warranty on my 2014.

Also keep in mind that the prices quoted do not take into consideration if it’s a leather interior or not (although, at least from what I’ve read, leather interiors warping don’t seem as common - but that could just be b/c of the smaller sample size). Finally, be careful about believing this is a “quick fix” - there are airbags in the doors. I don’t profess to be an expert by any means but I would always wonder whether or not whatever solution I used was “too strong” and would interfere with the deployment of the airbag in an emergency. With a factory replacement I had more piece of mind. If it were me, I’d ask for at least $5k off.

Jeez, add in labor and that's probably double the 'dreaded' IMS fix, price-wise (if you're into that sort of thing). I"m asking for more details on it as we speak.

You’re past the window for a courtesy repair or CPO I imagine so yeah, $3000 and change for a basic panel. I’d deduct that plus $1000 more for the seller being a liar :-)

well it is quick and easy if you drop it off at the dealer and sign a check... but it is very common and cosmetic only. Kinda annoying we don’t have an aftermarket repair solution by now.

My dealer just ordered both panels under CPO and hope to request Porsche NA that selling Porsche dealer be changed back for selling a car as CPO WITH warped panels

Porsche needs to fix these on all cars.

Seller is contacting someone at Porsche in Dallas to see what the fix will be. I told him it has to be done 'right' for us to do a deal, or gotta knock off $3500 for me to have it done. He didn't say no. What a crazy thing to go wrong.

my dealer quoted me a touch over $4100 for both doors (standard non leather). but i bet a year later i will have the same problem. and for 4100 bucks i can have other toys for the car.
I tried fixing myself and one door worked the other one didn't. So i'm looking on local and fleabay sites if anything comes up on the cheaper side. For now driving as is.

I combed through the last couple of pages, but does this issue affect all models? I'm the new owner of a gently used 2014 C2S. It's just out of CPO and this thread is making my knees weak already.

Hmmm. Sounds like a paid for title to me. I’ve got one panel on order for my 2017 991.2. Same issue. The other one was already replaced.

The one I'm looking at is also a 2014 C2S. This is what the driver's side looks like currently...

If your car has leather option you'll be fine. It seems warping only affects on plastic ones. It is very unfortunate situation and pricing on panel is just ridiculous. Maybe time for class action by owners?

Well ****. My doors are non-leather. Just a matter of time now before they separate? Someone posted a link to a FB group who is starting a class action lawsuit.

Guys, one thing to keep in mind is that even if they're replaced, the new ones will eventually do the same thing. What we really need is a workaround hack job repair that we can do ourselves

Mine are warped, but fortunately, they're not that bad. I do expect them to get worse with time, though.

You're not wrong. Mine were replaced maybe 2yrs ago and I can already tell they're starting to warp. Nowhere near as bad as it got last time but I can already push down on the middle part to make it flatter, it will get there given a few more years. Replacement panels are clearly not better or "fixed".

Isn't the "home" fix a liability issue, though, given the airbags deployment path ? This one is going to be tricky. Maybe we need to start jamming a stick between the door panel and the roof and store the car that way ;-) I'll take that over an IMS bearing though.

What's the warranty on replacement parts? 4 years? No way they won't start warping again in that amount of time, just make Porsche keep replacing them over and over every 3.9 years.
