That cool, I have not changed my CL, yet. But I think I will get one of those just in case I need it. Do you use a big long bar, or a Torque Multiplier tool. I was thinking of going with the Multiplier.

I use a long bar, but thinking of getting a multiplier to keep in the car just in case I need it on the road.

I too found it was easier to lift and locate the wheel on the center hub. No problem rotating the wheel to line up the bolt holes. It took more time and effort to maneuver the wheel lug holes over the guides.

absolutely agree w prev comments of " two better than one better than none " esp since they are so inexpensive and take up little space in tool kit

with one , the wheel still swings like a pendulum making seating the first bolt with potential cross-threading possible due to side loading

with two , placed at 10 and 2 , a piece of cake !

Exactly my thoughts on keeping one in the frunk.

. . . and before I forget, NEVER use the wheel end cap removal tool that comes with the car. If you do, it is guaranteed to ruin your end cap -- even if you are very careful. Instead use a plastic trim tool or a small taped screwdriver (those stupid caps are expensive!)

Thanks for the tip, I saw the little tool in the CL kit, but I have not tried it yet.

I bought 2 from Reverse Logic and the shipping was free so the cost is almost the same as the others I saw with shipping.

I've used the same brand as the OP for many years on all my cars. A must-have tool.

Didn't they put these in the frunk kits years ago? Seem to remember I had one in the 996.....

When did they stop?

What I have seen in my frunk, is the CL nut to square drive socket adpator and the little clip thingie to remove the cap. The removal clip is metal, and I think that is what Porsche_nuts says is bad. I do not recall seeing any wheel alignment device in my 991.2?

Yesterday I just orientated the wheel with the security bolt at 12 o'clock and removed that one completely and inserted the tool then removed the rest of the bolts. Installed the other wheel and the bolt holes lined up lickety-split. No cussing.
Like I said, personal preference. I lift the wheel directly to the center hub and it stays there. Any hole aligning can then be done with the weight supported by the hub. When I used the tool, aligning it to the hole seemed awkward, probably from years of doing it the other way. Glad it works for others though.
