Used 2013 Porsche 991 vs new BMW M2

No disrespect to the OP but this reminds me of the countless times that my wife asks/asked me which purse, watch, jewelry, etc. would I buy if I were her. I tell her, “only you know, babe” every time.
M2 if you want a brand new car and have a grin on your face for about 6 months. 911 if you want to giggle like a little girl every time you drive it. It’s a Porsche forum...wada ya expect?!?!

I've owned a bunch of M cars and couples 911's. I think the new M2 Competition is a pretty competent car. Like others have said, it's apples and oranges. And depending on use, DD vs weekend or track.
I thought about getting the M2, but in my opinion it's a younger mans car. The Porsche is better suited for a distinguished and sophisticated man. Lol
Good luck.

I saw that the thread was old, but as a previous M2 owner and admirer, it was interesting to read the responses.

I haven't driven an M2 but have had several M3s and an M4. They are terrific fun but my 911 is an even better driver's car. On the other hand, there's something to be said for a relatively usable back seat and trunk. In any case, as others have said, the OP has surely already made up his mind. Hoping he's happy with his choice.
God bless,

If you care at all about balance, handling, steering feel & steering precision, the M2 (and M3) pale in comparison to the 991. I've owned a F80 M3 and driven the M2 extensively. The BMW products are great compared to other sedans/coupes, but they are top heavy & numb relative to true sports cars and over-powered for their chassis.

I have a friend that sold his 991.1 C2S and bought a new M2 and installed Ohlins, big brakes, sticky tires + wheels etc. - Semi track prepped.
Nothing but regrets coming from him.
