Does Porsche kneecap the base 991.2 with the Advans ?
I picked up a base 991.2 pdk, last week.
Car came with the base 19" wheel, which I love (although sport classics are my favorite)-----anyway, I'm thinking Porsche made the performance difference to the S bigger than it had to be by putting an inferior tire on the base car. S comes with 20" wheels wearing 245/305. My stock 19's" were 235/295
Kinda like what GM did with the 2016-2017 Camaro V6, and 2.0T Camaros. In fact the lateral G's of the V6 and V4 Camaros would beat the V8 due to weight of the V8 engine. You can't get Summer tires stock for the V4 and V6.
I guess I'm going to fix my 911 and put on some RE-71R's in 19" sizes, 245 front and 305 rear.

An 8.5" for a 245 is fine in front.
A 11.5" for a 305 is no problem in the rear.
I am sure the ride will be a bit harsher, and most probably louder.
Grip will be MUCH BETTER.
Rear diameter decreases by 1". Height of rear goes down by .5" front goes down .2".
Speedometer reads 2.5 to 3 miles higher than reality. Less speeding tickets

I don't think so. I'd check your option list again. Run your vin through a VIN decoder if you didn't buy it new to see what the original equipment was. in North America the C2 base comes with 19" wheels.

As my car will be a daily driver, comfort was an issue for me. I spent a fair bit of time driving C2, C2S, C4S cars with 20" wheels and found the ride acceptable. The S cars I drove both had SPASM. The car I bought (C4 Base) did not and I expect the ride to be a bit more relaxed. To me it was more important to have a comfortable daily driver than an extra bit of grip going around a corner. I found the base C2 cornering to be more than acceptable. Everyone options their cars to meet their needs though.

I'm just saying that the base car with the no option Advans and 19" wheels, while still being a great car is relatively handicapped with the stock tires.
Maybe the Pirellis are a bit better. I realize that the ride and noise from the tires will be worse going to a set of RE-71's, but it will be the single best mod to favorably impact the handling of the car.

If it was me, I'd use the 19's for a winter set and buy a new set of aftermarket 20's and rubber to match. If he doesn't have need for a winter set, put them in the marketplace on reenlist and put the money towards the new 20's.

I think he's referring also to the brand of tire...
Chevy and Ford got wise to the internet and magazine bench racing and effectively stacked the deck in their favor with good tires. The Corvette for example uses the best michelins... not great for longevity but fantastic for lap times... and marketing.

Tire Rack lists some 19" tire choices to replace the tires that came with the car. You can switch to Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I don't know if you can rate tires by how much the cost but the Yokohamas the car came with are more expensive than the Michelin.

bought it new and drove it off the dealership showroom floor with 5 miles on it. I've read multiple places that one of the nice things about the 991.2 facelift was that it now came standard with the larger 305 tires that the previous C4 had, at least that's the way I understood it. I do have the Carrara S wheels, so that's probably the upgrade that got me these.

I'm sorry, I'm confused. In your first post you wrote that the car has 19" wheels. Now you are saying that you have Carerra S wheels. Those are 20" wheels. Which is it? In any event do you find the car losing grip going around corners?
