MY2018 for 991.2 in North America
Hi, does anyone know which month MY2018 production begins in 2017 for the 991.2's?
The recently announced 991.2 GTS for March 2017 - are those coming as MY2017 or MY2018?
Thanks

It's June. Allocations should be available in March for the June build.
2017 allocations will be available at the same time (March) for May builds so make sure you clearly specify the 2018 MY with your dealer. Not worth a years worth of depreciation to get the 2017.

So Porsche releases both May and June allocations at the same time, in March?
When do we find out what changes happen with MY2018? Or to put in another way, do rumors suggest any changes for MY2018?

No. Allocations are released on a quarterly basis. However, in March they will have some leftover 2017 allocations and will know what their next quarter (2018) allocations are for ordering.
In March 2013 I ordered a 2013 981 for a May build and then got smart on these forums. Figured out what the OP is trying to understand and switched it over to a 2014 June build.
I'm not saying that is the same for all MY changes but it was for 2013/2014 and it is the same for 2017/2018. BTW - I would really caution anyone buying a 2017 GTS. Short few months for that build. Hold out for the 2018.
And no, you will not know all the changes for the MY switchover. I found out I had rev matching in my 2014 981 when I picked up the car in Stuttgart in July 2013. No one knew the car had that function added in the US in March 2013 when I placed my order. (at least none on the many forums I frequent).....and most of the folks in these forums will know FAR more than the SA at the dealerships.
It also had two button design changes between US 2013s and 2014s - not advertised but why would they? Early 2014s like mine didn't have the leather door handle pull (with full leather). Later MY 2014s added that nice feature. Mine is plastic with a full leather interior. Blah.

Yep. June build and matches what I have been told and experienced. Hard to get a 2018 in the US as early as July with the shipping time. Nice job. I had to go to Stuttgart to get my 981 in July for a June build.

Subshooter - thanks for the advice. I was offered a May production 2017. I think I'll wait that extra month for a MY2018. Like you said, it'll help reduce depreciation down the road.
