There is nothing isolating or soft about a turbocharged Porsche, they are exciting, more so if you know how to drive them and how to push them.
I'm very happy with the direction they're going in and will have no problem looking at the 992 and potentially buying one. The reason being I own, and as a consequence of that, have driven the current version extensively (road and track - extensively) and know it to be a fine and engaging motor vehicle which also, as many attest to (including my self), is formidable on a race track.
The 992 will step it up another notch.
No one is forcing you to put deposit down, why would you given you don't like them.
There seems little to discuss given the whole line up is officially turbocharged. There is little to be gained from a canutian stance.

And what I don’t understand is why anyone would protest our use of *mandatory*. We’re not saying STOP making turbos. We’re saying leave those of us who find the turbos too filtered and isolated at least ONE choice that is atmospheric, rambunctious and what we deem visceral. Turbo fans won’t be affected! Everyone wins! The U.S market has proven that it will fall over itself and pay massive markups for not only new, but USED N/A 911’s or Caymans/Boxsters. N/A 911 sales were the height of 911 sales. 385HP 3.8 GT4’s and 375 HP Spyders are still selling over sticker. The market support is here, to this day.
No need to convince us of anything. Turbo 911 fans have a monopoly on the new market. You’re good! We/I accept the reality of that. What “we’re” against is Porsche pulling our one option to get a 911 a certain, popular way that we (many of us) desire.

Killing the manual at the same time as adding turbos is insult to injury. The GT3 was the only brutal, hard edged stick car they built.
If the Carreras had less sound deadening, vastly stiffer springs, solid engine mounts, etc, even just as an option package. Then I wouldn't be so incensed.
A 'GT Suspension Kit' and a 'NVH Package' would make me a lot happier with this brand.

Why don't you pick up a 996 Series 2 GT3 - they're a real challenge to drive well, much more so than the 991. It depends where you see the opportunity. From a difficulty point of view 996GT3>997GT3>991GT3

Oh I'd love to. I'm a young guy though, and don't have near the buying power yet. That's one of the reasons this whole situation is so frustrating.
Globalizing models is popular with manufacturers right now because they had previously gotten far too differentiated, but I suspect once all cars are the same everywhere, some manufacturers will begin to try to gain an edge by building to local tastes again.
The new cars are way more rounded and bulbous than the squarer old ones though. Which is why those brutal wheel arches are perfect on the 80’s cars, and look odd on some 992 pictures.
On a separate note, I can put my 991.1 next to just about anything and I think it’ll vastly visually outshine it or hold its own with the best of them. The ONLY time my car looks “blah” is when it’s next to an air cooled 911. Those cars are so defined and have such soul and legend to their look. Even the flawless 991 can’t keep up.
