By the way, fun thread idea and great pics! The composition of some of them is great. (Not in mine!)

That's one of my favorite things about the 911 - fun for the whole family!

@Ace37, cool picture! That's a lot of snow pack in your wheel barrels. Can you ever feel the wheels go out of balance?

Yeah it was pretty significant in the picture. I had just played around for 2-3 minutes in a very large parking lot that hosts autocross events - it's a mile from my house and on the way to the gas station and restaurants. The snow was all fresh light powder and I never got above ~40 mph so I didn't notice the effect. If it were dense wet stuff or I got up to speed it probably would have felt terrible.

Gah! I just filled up this morning, get to work, log on to RL and THEN I see this thread. It's going to be at least another month before I need gas again (P-Car is not my DD).

Cool thread idea tho!

That car, that picture, perfection... Ok I'd give it 100% in battleship grey because I'm a monochrome guy, but as is it's 99.9% ! wow ! Thanks for a new background and renewed appreciation for the duck ! Those fuchs-look wheels, mamma mia !

For Ace37:

Curious, did you leave your car running when refilling?

Not sure about that time, but I don't think it matters with this car so I might have. I often leave our diesel SUV running when it's cold outside to keep the heat on.

I know a lot of folks get worried about that or at least used to twenty years ago but I frankly don't understand why with DFI engines (and less so with diesel). If someone convinces me there is a meaningful risk I'll happily change what I do. And if I owned a carbureted or alternative fuel car I would shut it down every time as I haven't thought through all of it for those types of systems.

Perhaps somebody jumping in your running car with your baby in the back qualifies as meaningful risk.

You aren't kidding! Engine off, keys in pocket and constantly scanning my surroundings while topping off.

Great pictures everyone, keep 'em coming.
