You left the car alone? You're lucky it was there when you came back, never mind two of them.

have a video dash recorder, incase **** happens, there is some evidence.

Tip #3

Nap time can happen anywhere anytime in Mexico

Tip #4

Oil change does NOT cost $350 in Mexico, it cost $70 in parts + $20 in labor

They didn't put oil in, it was brown coloured water. And did you check to see what parts they removed while they were under it??

I wouldn't necessarily call Nairobi safe, but I'd prefer it to Mexico. I stayed at the Stanley 10 years ago. A security guard with a pistol at every stairwell floor exit and all cars checked underneath for bombs before being allowed to approach the driveway. Hotel security told me it was OK to walk up and down the one block the hotel was on, just no further and without a camera, girlfriend's purse, or backpack. At dusk, we wanted to go to an internet cafe across the street. Security said OK but said to catch their eye before we attempted to cross back. Didn't feel that good in the city. In the countryside was a different story, people seemed more friendly and relaxed. Haven't been to Mexico. I'll pay more and go to Hawaii and come back with all of my parts intact.

I don't fly international at the moment, but when I did I went to Senegal and South Africa. Senegal was ok, SA was a little scary. We also have crews that layover in Lagos, and they are not allowed to leave the hotel compound while there.

You can always tell how dangerous a country is by how many people are trying to get out of it. At my kids' school there has been a steady influx of Greek, Brazilian, South African, Russian and more recently Turkey. the number one and number two reasons: To escape crime and to escape corruption. I suspect the same with respect to Mexico and Central America in general.

Does your girlfriend have a few friends/cousins or sisters?? If there's an incentive, you might have a nice posse for a road trip. Please post lady/sisters/friends pics

Lol if I lived in So Cal, I would be all over this trip.
Although the wife would likely veto...
