Was it hard to give up the roaring V10? I'm sure the extra comfort and roominess of the Porsche was a welcome change.

Really good question... The R8 was a beast, the great part of owning the Spyder is that the entire rear window powers down(when the top is up) so you can hear that beautiful engine, and honestly there really isn't anything that sounds quite as glorious as the V10 in an Audi R8(and Gallardo)when it's screaming near its redline. It was definitely faster than the new Carrera however I feel like with a tune the 991S would be just as fast as my 2011 6spd manual stock V10-or dare I say slightly faster.

I can't take anything away from the R8, it was a great car, although I will not miss the attention it attracted. The Porsche blends in just enough not to have people following you home or videoing you as you drive down the highway. More importantly the 4S is more comfortable, versatile and just an elegant piece of art rolling down the highway(not that the R8 isn't-just in a different way). Maybe someday I'll be fortunate enough to own both at the same time. In the end, there really is nothing like a Porsche 911.

IMO, Graphite changes its character more with different types of lighting than any other car color that I can remember.

@Mac I ordered the same car .2 C4S received in may 5700 miles on it ,its really addictive !! Did you get many options on it ?

The 21 inch wheels must be a hard drive no ?

A bit of an unfair comparison as there is a 6 year gap between the two cars. The 911 definitely suits my style better. I feel like I have more passion for it and it just does everything you want it to.

Congrats! I'm sure you're enjoying yours to a different level now that it's broken in. You would think so, but actually not much difference in ride quality with the 21" wheels. Here's how I optioned it:

Congrats OP, beautiful car. I was close to buying a used R8 Spyder V10 (not a vert fan but love the look of the R8 Spyder). But because the rollover bars are not fixed (they pop up in a rollover situation), most/all track day organizations will not allow it at their events. It is not even allowed at Audi track day club events. Imagine that, Audi's premier sports car is not considered safe enough for the track.
