That's the problem for me - this was my plan exactly but the winter rims are a bit wide.

That's my setup and similar to what I've done on my last 5+ cars. Winter tires on my stock GTS centerlocks and Forgeline GE1 + Michelin Sport Cup 2 for summer.

Also per the earlier comments the Michelin PA4 in 295 width is totally fine for the 20x11.5" rear wheel on my GTS. It must run wide as it does not appear stretched in the least.

I had the same dilemma initially, couldn't find any 305 winters whatsoever- after confirming here went ahead w 295 Sottozeros on the 11.5 Sport Technos, it works just fine and doesn't even look that stretched.

if i may ask, why is everyone hellbent on using such a wide tire for winter?
Having a narrower tire is better in snow. Sure you need to be more careful when punting a little sport in your driving but easier to find rims and tires.
I used 265 in the back for winter on a 997.1 C4. worked wonderfully

Wanting to put winter tires on the stock wheels is the typical reason.

I wouldn't say that anyone is "hellbent" on using the 295 width; it is the Porsche recommendation for winter tires.

When in deep snow you are correct but the rest of the time you are sacrificing traction. I live in Toronto and we are rarely on snow as roads are plowed quickly .....if it snows. Have you tried 295?

I have a 2014 C2 with the 295/30-20 Pirelli's on the 20x11 Carrera S wheels.

From the information provided above, it seems that I can run the 305/33-20. Is this true?

If so, will it have any affect my speedometer reading since the the 295/30-20 and the 305/33-20 setups have slightly different overall diameters (0.236) or is it inconsequential?

Thanks.

my new 2018 C2 coupe just showed up, and I'm shopping for a winter tire and rim set, the dealer wants me to purchase the rims from them to guarantee fitment for $5000, I found aftermarket rims for half the price but the dealer said they will not fit, and the tire guys are telling me they will fit!
Something to do with off set, I was quoted aftermarket ET 48 FRONT AND REAR, the car comes with off set ET 51 AND ET70
the tire and rim size front 19x8.5 CB71.6 ET 48 rear 19X10 CB71.6 with tires 235 40 R19 and 285 35 R19, or the option of 235 40 R19 and 295 35 R19?
who is right?
want to pick up my toy soon

Mostly because there aren't many narrower choices available--at least for a 991. Minimum wheel diameter is 19 inches to clear the rear suspension and unless you have them custom made, you can't find 19-inch wheels, with Porsche bolt patterns and offsets in narrow sizes. You also can't find snow tires in 19-inch narrow sizes, with something close to the correct front/rear stagger.

I would have loved to put 195/50-19 and 235/45-19 snows on sixes and eights on my 991.2. Neither the tire nor the wheels--or anything even close--exists.

A 295 (with a section width of 12.1") will fit on a 10" wheel, but 11" is a better fit. The winter wheels we list for the 991 are all 11". The 10" wheels were more for 996 and 997 use. You did not specify what the rear offset was on the 10" wheel, so I'm not sure how it will look or fit. The front wheel should be OK.

Our best priced winter set would be:

19X8.5 5-130 ET52 STARKE FC 179.00
Reuse OE hardware
HUF 433MHZ SENSOR 4 NM 57.00
OPTIONAL GREY TPMS VALVE PARTS 2.99

19X11 5-130 ET67 STARKE FC 179.00
Reuse OE hardware
HUF 433MHZ SENSOR 4 NM 57.00
OPTIONAL GREY TPMS VALVE PARTS 2.99

235/40R19 PIRELLI WIN 240SZ S2 N0 241.90

295/35R19 PIRELLI WIN 240SZ S2 N0 379.76

Mds Total 2,199.28 plus shipping

Wheels are here.

Tires are here.

I have all in stock if interested! Please call me if I can help.

I bought almost exactly that combo, except with the Starke BC wheels, for my 991.2 C2 in late 2016. In Colorado, the setup works very well.
