Question Question for 991.2 Black/Bordeaux owners:

On the new Black/Bordeaux interior for 2017, does the dash and door top have deviated stitching in Bordeaux?
It appears to have in the configurator but in actual pictures I can't tell for sure.

Also is there deviated stitching anywhere else in your interior?

Guidance appreciated!!

Happy New Years all!

Don't forget to order steering column casing in leather with deviated stitching as well - it's a great add on for the two tone interiors where you get the other stitching "free". You'll have to make sure it's added as a Z option by your SA (for an extra $160 or so). The deviated stitching isn't available on the customer Configurator.

I REALLY like the 2 tone BORDEAUX interior. Much prefer it to the Carrerea Red interior of previous series.

Are you sure that is only $160 bucks? If so, that is a real bargain.

I really love the black contrasting carpeting in Jeffdehr's car.

I have a 991.1 SBM GTS coupe with black/garnet red. I really did not want red carpeting (too much red), but Porsche was very restrictive and would not allow me to spec contrasting black carpeting, though I believe it was available for non-GTS orders. Back in 2011 I tried to get the normal instrument cover on my ordered Cayman R, but was flat out refused, so I had to put up with windshield reflections. I'm sure I simply was not important enough to force the issue. I'm so old now that if I ever order another car from them it will be my last, so it will either get built to my specs or I'll cut off my own nose and just not order the damn thing. I can understand most of the paint-to-sample issues Porsche has informed us about, but most of the requests guys have do not seem difficult for Porsche, especially given what they charge for options that are standard in many models of '17 Toyota Corollas. End of rant.

I have Black/Bordeaux on my order. Did you ever consider CF trim? I haven't seen it in person - looks nice in the configurator but I hate spending ~$2000 for it.

Me as well. The others, Garnet and Carrera, were a bit bright on the red, but the Bordeaux tones it down just right IMO.
I'm a bit bummed that they no longer offer black leather inserts as an Exclusive option... but suggesting that this will change in MY 18

I have a Porsche Design Specialist on it now! Also looking into adding deviated stitching on the steering wheel.

The Turbo S comes standard with CF trim on the doors, dash and center consul.
I'm going to leave it at that.

Totally agree with your "rant". This is probably my last kick at the cat, ordering custom instead of a dealer prepped order.
I had tried to order black inserts from Porsche Exclusive for the Black/Bordeaux interior. How hard can it be to choose from the black leather seat insert parts bin instead of the red seat insert parts bin when assembling my seats... Like these:

Obviously it was offered at one point, but that is no longer the case for MY17.

The official word from Porsche Exclusive is:

PAG has reduced the ability to customize two-tone interiors via these normal options in order to minimize complexities and they are in the progress of changing them over for the next model year so they are more simplified.

~mini rant over~

I think the leather steering casing is about $465 (XNS) or so then adding deviated stitching is $80 more (90027). Probably can't see it and this is garnet. Does have CF mixed with two tone.
