Default Aerokit Cup Front Lip vs. Sport Design

Replacing front lip on my '16 GTS, obsessing between ordering Cup or Sport Design. I like the Cup front lip a bit better but am wondering how much lower it is versus standard GTS Sport Design lip. Anybody with experience please weigh in. Thanks!

Same height. Just looks lower because the center cut out/set back on the Aerokit Cup one.

Well I guess this pretty much says enough for me... Nicer look isn't worth further trade off in already low approach angle.

Are you sure about this STG? On online configurator they have a warning about approach angle.

Compared to the standard bumper. They are talking about upgrading to the Aerokit package

There have been quite a few threads about this already. I have both pieces sitting in my basement and measured them out when it was discussed earlier.

I may have even posted pictures in one of those threads.

Thank you STG! Wasn't doubting your expertise, it's just Porsche configurator is misleading because they give that warning when building a GTS and adding the Aerokit Cup option to it.

Ah snap, now I see that you have the Cup lip on your avatar picture. Nice. Do you still have it on your car?

Yes. Still on there. When I'm at home I can snap a few pics when I have time the next couple days or so with a tape measure. They were literally less than 1/4" difference from memory.

Try and dig up those other threads. Had some detailed info on there too.

I think that's the generic warning they give to the Carrera S too. Don't think they changed it for the GTS which obviously comes with the Sport Design bumper.

You have a good memory STG, dug up your old post from 7/8/15...
"Cup Aerokit Spoiler is approx .25" to .30" or so lower than the Sport Design one. Just measured. Not too much, but a more aggressive look IMO."

Also, understand from that old thread that the center part does not come painted in body color when purchased on the car from the factory. Aftermarket piece comes fully primed, and I think I'll just have them paint the whole thing body color since my car is black it won't really matter. Thanks again!

Here's the thread with STG's quote from above. Has lots of pics and details.

Call Sunset parts for $$ too, order two, and best to have an extra on hand. Probably better pricing getting two painted at one time from the body shop.

Get the center cut out painted a matte black. Even on a black car. Will reflect less and fall into the background a bit more.

I'm not playing any favorites with these parts guys anymore. I'm buying on price only. Whoever has the best price gets my business. Done deal. They aren't doing me any favors, so whatever. None of them care about you after a closed sale or favor trust me.

I work too hard to give $$ away.

+1 this is what I did ordered 2x from Suncoast and painted them both at the same time...

I am having my second AeroCup Spoiler painted this week. After driving with both spoilers I find there isn't much difference in how often they scrape. I approach at the steepest angle possible and use two lawyers of black duct tape on the outermost corners that most often hit. I have changed the tape 5 or 6 times without damage to the paint.
