I would never have a need for 18 cars. I personally like the extremes. Fast, off road, utility and luxury sedans So 4 to 5 cars max. Now if I lived in a country like Greece or Italy. That GTI would probably tick all the boxes. The roads and typography suit that car best. Might even be a bit to large in fact. Would probably be looking at a Peugeot 308 or a Skoda fabria instead.

Well the 911 is a unique vehicle. A little over priced for what you get considering the competition though. With turbocharging becoming the norm these days. The competition is closing in on the 911. The market is ripe for the front engine 4 and 6 cylinder turbos. With trickery like RWS, Torque vectoring and multi speed transmissions. The competition is right on the tale of Porsche. Even a car like the VW is circling the Nurburgring in the 7:40s

This does not make me happy. Porsche builds perhaps the best 911 at a reasonable MSRP but doesn't build nearly enough of them to satisfy the overwhelming demand. This makes me respect the brand a bit less, and most certainly does not engender loyalty. I also despise the games that Porsche allows dealers to play. I don't care what the car sells at in the secondary market but don't allow dealers to engage in price gouging. I would feel better if Porsche just increased the MSRP. This is a giant brand detractor in the long run.

Wow, you've been spying on me! I feel the exact same way -- I just never want more than one car for each "role" in my life. I've tried keeping two sportscars and the one I like less just sits for weeks on end and then gets driven out of guilt.

But sure, if I were making a dream list out of my actual list, I suppose I'd swap the wife's ride for an S-class. I'd keep the 991 and the Wrangler; I'm getting tired of the Cadillac so I'd probably swap it for a mid-to-late-sixties GMC pickup, and then I'd not need my crappy 94 pickup, so I'd use that garage slot for... Hmmmm... Probably a Fiat Dino Spider. But I think I'm too lazy to own something 40+ years old and foreign. With a Ferrari motor.

I'm pissed at mine. No spare tire, "No season" Turanzas terrible in the snow, no good choice for a run flat snow tire, cavernous back seat (which I'm never in) and a very small trunk for the size of the vehicle. Plus, Homelink doesn't work at all on our gate and I have to be within a few feet of our garage doors (the service manager came to my home and said "can't do any better"), the Mercedes Me app is atrocious and now the remote start isn't working at all ("they're having a glitch; give it time" - it was 6 the other day) and the ventilated seats simply don't work at all as far as I can tell.
I always wanted to try one and now I have. I will say it's very fast for it's size, comfortable to drive on dry pavement (except for the noisy run flat tires) and feels very safe.
It will be gone well before the warranty is up and my next DD will have at least a mini spare.

I mean, even if they built a more entry level 991R without a Magnesium Roof, carbon hood, but with the suspension bits, 6MT and maybe the 3.8 from the GT3. It would MSRP around 140-150 and sell like hot cakes, but one can only dream.
