Appears the black grill houses the 3rd brake light as does the duct tail...which would be redundant. T

That can't be the reason, because the standard 3-slat grill also houses a CHMSL in a non-duck car and it houses a blanking plate in the ducktail cars -- the same blanking plate I just moved over to the black 7-slat grill.

I've read it's an aero consideration of some sort. So far I've been able to keep it between the ditches at up to 140. I'm not gonna push my luck past 175, though, just to be sure.

Could be a cooling issue as well I suppose. No deviation on the readouts so far that I've seen. I keep my digital temps guage up at all times.

I'd be up for that if the retrofit is easy and doesn't require much codging together. I'm lazy and it doesn't bother me enough to go to very much trouble.

Heck, even if it's easy I'm not sure I'd splurge for the $171 share it would cost me, plus shipping from you, Tony. I guess I'm both lazy and cheap.

Suncoast Porsche: Rear "Ducktail" Spoiler $ 1795 + $300 for the cab, Black Grill $ 1640, shipping est $ 100, prep and paint est. $ 500. Grand Total $ 4335..just not worth it to me. Really like the duck on the the coupe above but not so sure on the Cab's. Call me cheap if you want to T

I was going to put the duck on my car, but after blowing the same amount on paint correction, xpel and ceramic pro, decided not to proceed with ducktail. Have short-shifter, new front lip, Rennline grilles and classic shift **** sitting in my garage for the past few months. Once those are all installed, I'm done spending money on this car! Duck is hot, but certainly not worth that much dough!!

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck . . .

Ya gotta pay!

Love the look, but not the cost. I'll keep my car as is, and quack quietly to myself as I drive off into the sunset.

Crap pics, but can't leave you hanging. She hasn't been "around much" lately... Mainly hibernating. Can't tell from these pics but have you ever noticed how black looks extremely hot just before dusk? Name: photo365.jpg

Hi guys!

I´m new here on RL, but I have owned five Porsches in the past!! I´m currently driving a Ferrari 458 and I´m very happy with it. Lately
I´ve started to think about the 991.2 GTS. It´s almost the same money! This question is a little wird but, why is the GTS a better car
than the 458? I mean, all of you guys here have chosen the GTS. I understand if you are a 100% Porsche fan that the choice is easy, but
I like both brands!! I just need some opinions on my way to the GTS. I´ve already spec. a GTS and got my discount of the dealer, so now
I just need to press the "buy" button!!

Best regards!!

My brother and I just went for a quick visit at my parents house in NC. Me = 2018 Targa GTS, him = 2012 Ferrari California. The Ferrari is beautiful, but most of the folks that were there preferred the Porsche...I am not comparing a California to a 458, but the ride in the GTS was better, the seats were more comfortable (18 way) and the cockpit (in my opinion) was more sophisticated, just my opinion, nothing more.

To all the listers that have Florida plates and homes, good luck over the next 72 hours.

I was going to add a 458 to my garage, I think they are just different cars and can't be compared. As far as which one I would want I would want a 458, especially if you are comparing to a new 991.2 with turbos. I would take the engine and characteristics of a 458 all day long.

Ultimately I picked a GTS because I can drive it everyday vs the 458 would sit as a weekend car. So for me it's about usage. I still may add a 458 but prices spike a little over the summer and are starting to come back down.

Great pics. And thanks for the luck. I'm on the east coast and feel like a dodged a bullet at the expense of our neighbors on the west coast (not a good feeling). I was in a California a few months ago. Nice car. Definitely a Ferrari, but I didn't like the way it drove. Felt heavy. My Carrera is only a base 991 (3.4), but love the feel compared to the California. Since I started tracking my car, I look for different things in cars. The California didn't do it for me as much as I think it's a nice car and definitely a great Ferrari.

Walk out to your garage. Look very closely at your 458 (and feel free to take a picture of it for us to enjoy). GTS of any variety is a really good car, but a 458 is something special. I doubt I would ever make this trade.

+1. I had a 2002 360 which I loved. I regret that I sold it but at the time I was more focused on having the money in the bank than the car in the garage. I'm now loving my 991.2 Targa GTS, but it's not a Ferrari. However, I can drive it anywhere and stay a bit more under the radar, which you certainly cannot do with a 458. A Ferrari is a uniquely special car to own. I'm not sure I'll have the chance to own another.

I've owned a Ferrari. The only reason to trade it for a GTS is if you want more reliability, more creature comforts, or a manual tranny.
