No brainer PDK for me. Maybe I'm lazy. But with the paddle shifters you can have a little of both worlds.

PDK is very responsive. But for a DD I would rather a PDK

Currently in a 991.1 with a manual and I have a 991.2 on order with a manual. When I first started considering the 991.2 my local dealership tried to sell me on the PDK. Test drive both a base and S with the transmission. It is brilliant. Its responsive and ridiculously fast. However I still couldn't get over that fact that it was an automatic. I drive my Porsche as a daily driver 9/12 months of the year. Sometimes I sit in traffic, sometimes I take the long way to and from work. I wouldn't trade that third pedal for slightly better performance. In this ever changing world where computers make "everything better", the manual transmission is one of the last connections between man and machine.

Is the manual outdated? Yes. Is it slower? Yes. But it gives you a driving experience that the PDK just can't. Just my 2cents.

You guys are making this harder and harder for me. I plan on owning the car for 5+ years. I plan on dailiy driving it. When I think from that point of view the PDK is the right choice.

Any traffic in Iceland? Do you intend to track it?

No one can tell you what is right for you. Both are excellent transmissions. Just test drive both and you'll know.

A new record! Only 53 posts and the decision is made!

Go PDK, then you have many more choices for steering wheels...

Why do you have to F with the guy? He is a car guy and has an old BMW 6 with a stick. He was always going to get a stick.

Is that a trick question? I8 doesn't offer a manual transmission.

How does one settle for a vintage bmw when the original topic was between a991 c4s pdk vs manual? Guess people have nothing better to do than to stir up controversy. Total waste of time and bandwidth.
