I was at 131 mph on the autobahn two weeks ago when I picked up my car in Leipzig. Heading back to Stuttgart for drop off so I will have another chance.
Land speed record for me was 160 mph in my 981 during European Delivery in 2013 (It was a Sunday though and the autobahn traffic was light)

Timing traps I've run through agree- there is optimism on the speedo. My belief is that it is a percentage rather than an absolute value. 8 to 10% seems right, so at an actual 100 MPH, the speedo would show 108 to 110, at 160 actual, it will show 172 to 176. That's my experience, at least.

Speedo was lower as expected.

I did 275-280 km/h on the A-bahn b/w Erfurt -> Wurzburg [A71]. I should have kept foot down as I had the room for V-max and traffic was light.
~ 250 km/h was several times a day during the euro odyssey: en route to Leipzig I was behind a silver Conti GT that was running at ~ 250-260 all the way and cars ahead moved over and I just sat on his tail for maybe 30 kays

On my only track day I probably hit a bit above 120 mph, which is fastest I've gone. In my Cayman S I got up to a high speed and have a souvenir from the state police to commend me, but it was nowhere near what I got on the track.
I really don't understand why they don't gear the car for a lower top speed, but faster acceleration. Is anyone going to say "only 195, this other car will do 210 so I'll buy that instead"?

We could probably benefit further from more than 7 gears with PDK. But I can't imagine a ten speed manual gearbox in a sports car.
Teslas only have one gear so they top out at around 125 and don't shift at all.

Today, I hit 162 mph in my 991.2 C4 on the way to Stuttgart from Zurich. Broke my previous land speed record of 160 mph in my 981. Plenty more to go. Too much traffic on a Wednesday. Car handled superbly.....even while heavy braking at that speed.

Ha ha.... We both squawked a little bit. I wanted to beat 160mph so I probably stayed on the accelerator longer than I should have when there was a car in my lane only going about 100mph. Getting on the brakes at that speed gets the adrenaline pumping.
Of course I have it on my GoPro.
